Peripherals confirmed to work with Rapid Road USB
Ok, since I can't find an updated list of devices that are confirmed to work with Rapid Road USB, I'll ask for one of two alternatives;
*Either some friendly souls points me to such a list (the one I found is super-old) in which case we're done here.. or.. *feel free to add your experiences / confirmed devices to this thread. Maybe we can have a useful list in a while (feels a bit as if we're doing IC's homework here ) Thanx in advance for contributing |

You should name the list " ... confirmed to work with Poseidon USB Stack"
If it works for example on Deneb with Poseidon it will also work on RoadShow device with Poseidon |

Ok, anyway .... I just asked my friend what he is using with his Deneb and Poseidon, here´s a little list :
- Typhoon wireless Mouse/Keyboard (2,4Ghz wireless Desktop Set) - 32GB Lexar USB Stick - 8GB Intenso USB Stick - Fujitsu Siemens 1TB 3,5" HDD - and an old Canon Digital Cam, he´s looking after model number ... I´ll add it when he has found it |

I mean, the Deneb card is a ZorroII/III, no? And Rapid Road for the small Amigas uses clockport, which is far slower, so I'd imagine there could be stuff that works on one but not the other.. like a DVD burner that does'nt work on the clock port version due to much too slow transfer speeds..? Stuff like that.. |

It´s that simple yes ... speaking of DVD Burners, it will work on either hardware, maybe just slower and you get errors while burning, don´t know but it WILL work ...
This would be like using an USB 3.0 capable device on an old PC with USB 1.1 .... it is slow but it will work |

So far every USB-stick I have thrown at the RR did work.
Plus some Cardreader of which I don't have brand or type. Cheers, McT |

All USB sticks I've tried has worked fine with Poseidon. There might be a few out there that won't work, but I think 99% should work.
Also tested working by me: Logitech K750 wireless keyboard Logitech MX518 laser mouse Logitech Value Optical Mouse For the mice, the scroll wheel also works. |

Thanx guys, Yea, I'd expect most mice, keyboards and storage devices to work.
But has anyone tried a bit more exotic stuff like USB Ethernet devices, sound cards, Printers, DVD, Game controllers etc..( ie what happens if you plug in an xbox 360 controller? Is a sound device recognized as such or does it have to be a very specific sound chip that already has support through AHI... etc.. |

I think most USB Audio DACs should work as long as they don't require special drivers when you connect them to a Windows system.
I have tried with a cheap USB Audio DAC (C-Media based I believe) and it seemed to work and appeared as an AHI device, however my 030 was not powerful enough to supply it with an audio stream, so while I could hear a bit of sound coming through, it was very intermittent with maybe 25% sound followed by 75% silence and so forth. When I get my Vampire 2 board, I will see if I will have better success or if the USB bandwidth is simply too low to carry audio at 44100 Hz 16 bit. Doing read speed tests on a USB stick, I get just below 1MB/s with my ACA620, but I am not sure how that compares to the raw USB speed. It should be plenty though since 44100/16bit/stereo equates to ~176kB/s. I have also tried with an Asixeth based USB Ethernet adapter (Apple adapter I think) but I am not sure that it works properly yet as I have some issue with the USB stack crashing after I get 'nak timouts'. I am able to do some pings and connect through AmiFTP though until it crashes. They mention that parallel port adapters should generally be working, but only certain serial port adapters will work. I tried one serial adapter I had, but while it was detected, there was no matching class for it so it could not be used. Last edited by demolition; 22 February 2016 at 15:44. |

Mouse : Cyborg RAT 9 wireless mouse does work (Subway with Poseidon 4.0)
Keyboard : Logitech K800 wireless does work too. Note : Of course they don't work anymore as soon as WHDLoad is launched. |

@Demolition : I never thought some USB DAC might work...
Do you think this one could work for example ? http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_xenyx_302_usb.htm |

USB2Parallel is a bit tricky.
Afair these adapters are rather providing a printer-interface and not a true parallel interface. Has nothing to do with Amiga, though. McT |
