I haven't been able to get it working either, sadly. It was an awesome game.

I had no problems getting it (Fairlight crack) to run in the latest WinUAE. I used an ECS13 config with 512k chip + 512k slow mem, more compatible CPU, internal drive only, 100% sound. Takes a while to load, but seems to work. There might be other working configs, this was the first one I tried.

It seems to be the MORE COMPATIBE option that forces this game to work Without it, it doesn´t even load !

Im using WinUAE 0.8.22.6 but the above config doesnt seem to work for me. The screen just stays black after the first part of the intro. Anyone got any other working configs for this they can share?

TIA

Hooooo

I think you are too impatient.

You have to wait LOTS of seconds until the game is finished with loading. Please activate track display in 'Misc.' settings and watch the floppy load. If it really stops loading for a longer time, it might be a WinUAE bug. If it just continues loading slowly, this is normal, because this loader *IS* very nifty.

Just a thought, (Andreas or Walker perhaps?),but maybe a thread relating to the popular /classic games that weren't working under older WinUAE's,(like Rainbow Islands,Murder etc.),but are now could be revived? I seem to recall one of guys having a thread along those lines.

I created a "BTTR update" thread, but it wasn't focused on any particular game category. Then there's the "[b] games that actually works" thread in the TOSEC forum.

I always try to help people out with specific games in this forum, and I think the best way is to deal with requests only.

@andreas

Its not that Im being impatient, the game actually stops loading on track 56. Ive tried various configs to get past this but with no luck.

OOPS! :hoo

Well, I didn't want to step too closely at you...

It's only because most people ARE too impatient and expect everything to load at the speed of 0.8.17 (i. e. faster than my real A1000)

OK, here's my config. Feedback, please.

Seems like there are lots of us who are managing to get this to work, so maybe ONE of our configs will work for you. I'm using the [a] version of the Fairlight crack with 512K chip, 512K slow, Kickstart 1.3, 68000, match A500 speed, 640x400, OCS, NTSC and Fast Copper. I don't have more compatible checked, and I disable DF2: and DF3: and it seems to work fine. Loading is very slow, and the screen remains black for a long time, but once it loads it works fine. My config is attached.
