Pheonix from the ashes.....
Looking for something today i opened up a box i had in storage and found my old A1200, thought this had been lost many years ago in a house move.
Found 2 amiga mice and the PSU as well. So i needed to do the smoke test on it, plugged in psu, closed eyes, placed hand over closed eyes and turned psu on and after 25 years it powered on, disk drive grumbled and power lights came on, even resets with keyboard. Cant connect to a display yet but after 25 years, so amazed it powered on. Having a few QOL things done to it on sunday but then ill be back on original hardware!! Cant wait!! |

Please have it recapped as soon as possible!

Obligatory:
- Commodore PSU's are notorious for sucking so look into a replacement. - Open up the A1200 and check for any leaks. Corrosion is common. - If there's a battery, remove it as it will undoubtedly leak at some point. - Look into getting the motherboard recapped. I'm sure this isn't stuff you want to do, but this is 30 year old hardware that was never made to be futureproof. Maintenance is unfortunately required. |
