A2000 Power LED flashing when audio filter on
On my 2000 the power light flashes on and off when the audio filter is on. It works fine when its turned off.
Does anyone know what might be wrong with it |

that's normal
on old revision boards (A500 & A2000) the power' light turns off when audio filter is enabled on new rev boards..after 1988 the power light decreases a bit instead when audio filter is enabled bye, Laser |

I said it flashes on and off when the filter is ON. And the light doesnt dim when the filter is enabled, it dims when its disabled.

Both filter and LED are OFF by default, but are switched ON immediately by the operating system. The LED shows the status of the filter: LED on = filter on, LED off or dimmed = filter off.
The LED is connected to a bit on one of the CIAs and the other end goes either to GND or +5V (don't know). So if the LED flashes while there is no change on the filter, then you probably have some strange signal on either +5V or GND. Perhaps your power supply is not strong enough for your hardware ? |

Another idea: are you sure that the filter does not change ? Do you perhaps have Executive installed ? Executive by default shows a heart beat with the LED (once a second it dimms for a 10th of a second), But this does effect the filter, too. Every "normal" (i.e. programmed) change of the LED does effect the filter.

maybe or not maybe....you will get better audio quality when the LED is off or dimmed
and nobody can debate about that so...LED is off or dimmed = audio filter enabled = better audio quality anyways you are confused but still you are my hero because you are supporting one of the best emulators |

Does it do it all the time - or just when running your WB or certain other apps? E.g. If you run a non-OS game/demo does it do it then? (I think Mr Nutz turns the filter on when you are under water??)

All the time, as soon as the kickstart reaches the bright white screen.

Hmm... sounds a little bit suspect. Have you tried swapping your CIA chips over?
Maybe Jope or Zetr0 can help as it sounds like a hardware issue... |

I havent, I believe they are not socketed on the 2000. I must admit I havent looked.
And yes as ive said, it is definitely a hardware issue. |

Swap them around and see what happens.. If it stays the same, start looking at your PSU voltages while the machine is running. |
