Which of this exists?
Ok I have no idea where to put this so I put it here and hope that a friendly moderator will move this thing to a better location if nescesary
*Labels thread with a FRAGILE label* What I'm looking for are some of the classic funny old platform games. Now I know you'll say there are plenty of platform games on the Amiga and everything which is true, but I'm looking for a special kind of platform game. Something oldschool Were there ever made many games on the old classic concepts? I remember fondly games like Manic miner, Blagger, Polar Pierre, Mr. Robot, Monty on the run and the games like that. They all had a certain charm, something about the gameplay which I'm not completely able to put my finger on, but which I'd really like to try again. Unfortunately it seems that there aren't many of these kinds of classic platformers existing on the Amiga. I think I've run across 2 in total. One being Furballs which had a bit of the charm, and the other being Mouse trap which also carried some of it. Do anyone know if there are any other games (there has to be) with this kind of oldschool feel? You know, I don't think I've ever seen any stompers in an Amiga game (Stompers being those things which, well, stomp you, like at the 2nd screen of Monty on the run, those large columns which fly down from the ceiling either at set intervals or randomly). |

It seems that PE has a compilation disk where it's on. As small a game as it is I don't think it's been butchered. I don't care anyway. I remember completeing it on the C64 long ago, there wasn't much of an outro there.
Now if I can't get it to work maybe I'll ask. Thanks for the offer Paul. Hmm doesn't seem the link on PE works. It takes me to an invalid selection page. Could you please upload the game as an ADF image? |

Both WHDLOAD or ADF versions are in the ADF-ZONE.
Do not boot the ADF version or it will crash and set emulator to ECS. Load workbench first then. 1. insert and open adf disk and then 2. Right click for menu 3. go to view 4. show all files. 5. open terry file. WHDLOAD version runs on any setup. Hope it works O.K. |

![]() I can't help to upload my standalone version then! ![]() //Edit: it's the same like your version, Paul (crc b9a80673)! Sorry I didn't download this before - mea culpa. :smileek Well it works without problems - use 0.8.8 R8 and a standard A500 configuration and you won't run into trouble! At the trainer screen, you must roll the mouse on the table a few times before you can get another line down! Last edited by andreas; 13 October 2001 at 19:54. |

I thought this game was nothing special when I first ever saw this game. But now it has grown on me and I can't stop playing it.

That's one of the characteristics those games I'm searching for had. Mousetrap was also fairly good. Reminded me a bit of Blagger, but there was some horrible music which kept me from playing it because I never figured out how to turn it off.

I am pleased that someone besides me likes this game! It was quite Mario-esque, but it sure takes a beating when it comes to negatives thrown at it by non-fans.
Back to your first message in the thread, Drake. Do you have this Furballs game you speak of? I seem to remember having this one on my wants list and can't seem to find a copy here on my HD, so it must be. TIA! |

Oops Sorry Twistin' I made a mistake when remembering names. The game I was thinking of wasn't furballs, but fuzzballs, though the game sprites are indeed furballs.
Sorry. |

Thanks for the clarification. It seems I found a file on my HD called Furball.zip anyhow, so I can't wait to get home and check it out. I don't see Fuzzballs immediately, but I think I probably have it as well...

Hey Drake, what about the PD game Mr & Mrs?? It suely has a very oldschool feel and some puzzles are solved in Head Over Heels style.
Oh, isnt Head Over Heels available for Amiga too? And would you consider Rick Dangerous oldschool? |

Yeah head over heels are on the Amiga, and I have both Rick dangerous games which are also good.
Mr & mrs? I should look into that. You say it's PD, so... would that be on Aminet? |

How about SuperFrog ,Zool ,Zool 2 ,james Pond 1/2 Im sure there are others...
Or are these a little too scrolly & shiny looking... ![]() Superfrog is personally a game a played for a long while!, very addictive. Really old skool would be chuckie egg 2 that did make it to the amiga. But my all time favourite has to be bounty bobs strikes back on the 8 bit machines ,closelly followed by auf wiedersehn Monty, bubble bobble & rainbow islands (there platformers to arent they?) ![]() http://www.bigfivesoftware.com/ |

I'd say that Superfrog would be beyond the oldschool, as would James pond 2.
I never played Auf wiedersehen monty much on the C64. Did that make it to the Amiga? |

The Amiga had a sequel to Monty Mole, Impossimole, but was there a conversion of Auf Wiedersehen Monty?? |
