Cracking open the Amiga 1000

Nice surprise when I opened the Amiga 1000 I picked up recently.
Seems there is an expansion board of some sort.
It didn't come with any kickstart or workbench disks.
There is also the expansion on the front as well which is cool.
I need a kickstart disk to boot it up and see how it goes.
Any ideas what this expansion is ?
Is there a way to boot this without a kickstart disk ?

Unless it has additional hardware which lets you install kickstart rom chips then you need a kickstart disk.

I will be able to send you a kickstart diskette pm me for details.

Just found a kickstart image on the internet, just need to write it to an amiga disk now.
I remember ages ago I'd split the ADF in half, write them onto 720K floppies, then transdisk each part from DF1: to DFO: using messydos. I'll see how I go, and shout out if I need help. Thanks for the offer T_hairy_bootson, much appreciated.
