Too bad the PC version is an enigma on how to actually get sound effects on. I've tried it on an old computer, I've tried it with dosbox, I've tried it with my win 98 boot into dos mode. Just doesn't seem to want to play digital sound effects for some reason. I know it has them as I've been able to play the sound effects individually outside the game. Just not in game. Need some setup in autoexec.bat I think. Just don't know what it would be |

Even for those who don't like the game 'Nicky Boum', you've got to admit that the cover is terrible compared to the game's artwork:
http://www.ollivision.de/ch/n/nickyboo.htm I'm not sure if that's the original cover, but it's the only one I've seen. Btw, does anyone know why it changed from Boum to Boom or vice versa? |

@LAJ,
About the name-change of Nicky Boum/Boom: I never quite knew what the reason is for the change of name, but here is a silly explanation for it: "Boom" is the sound of an explosion written in English. In French it is "Boum" and in Dutch (my native language) it would be "Boem". I guess it is related to translation of the game to several languages. Also, what I never understood is why Cinemaware's Wings is called Wongs in German games magazines. Oooooh those important trivia. It really keeps me awake at night. Oh, did I mention Jim Power has a really ugly boxcover? |

Agony cover is also ugly rather than the game's quality.

Just about every single game made in the U.K. had covers that didn't correlate with the quality of the software. Wakelin made some nice covers for Ocean though. I seem to remember Paradroid 90's cover wasn't at all representative of the CRACKER of a game that Paradroid 90 was! mm, I get the urge to topple the Cyborg (or was it the Bjornborg?) once more!

Personally I always thought just about every Psygnosis game had a good cover. The whole boxart of those games felt really cool, or that's what I always thought. I would definitely not call Beast 3 an ugly cover...
Btw, KQ2 had suckass graphics. No cover in the world would be too ugly for that game. And believe it or not, the Sq4 cover made an impact on me back when it was released. |

I do not agree on RiskyWoods and ShadowOfTheBeastIII covers being ugly. And SpaceQuestIV and Agony are two acceptable covers. (I agree that the name of Agony itsnt very appropiated)
I find ugly and of low quality the covers of ChuckRock and ChuckRockII, Wonderdog and the majority of CoreDesign games. The artist seems to be an eternal aerograph rookie. |
