Anyone having this problem connecting to a monitor?

Hi, I just bought a SCART to HDMI adaptor/scaler, but I can't seem to get the monitor to display anything other than garbled pixels, I get the same results whether the SCART coming from the Amiga is plugged in or not.

I know the SCART cable works, as it works fine on a TV, although I no longer have access to the TV, which is why I bought a HDMI adaptor to work with my monitor.

If anyone knows if there is a direct Amiga to HDMI adaptor, one that plugs into the back of the Amiga without the need of extra accessories or converters, or even a schematic/wiring diagram, that would be great.

Apoligies for the quality of the photo of my monitor, I have just moved into a new house and have no curtains up to get the room dark enough to see the screen without reflections, hopefully you can get an idea of what is going on from the image provided though.

Many thanks in advance.

This adapter only supports composite SCART. You need to find an adapter that supports RGB SCART.

Cool, thanks! Do you happen to know of any that you'd recommend?

I purchased this cheap one, after I made the same mistake:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B083TXTN5N

It's not the best quality, but it worked for me. (on an A600)

There are other adapters - just search for "RGB SCART HDMI adapter" on Amazon or eBay, or whatever - just make sure the product description says that it supports RGB SCART.

Brilliant thanks. I just grabbed this one...

Send a message via ICQ to Predseda
This works perfectly, even with other retro HW (namely Mega Drive).

Please define "This"... Are you talking about solarmon's adapter, the one I bought to replace the non-working one, or the one I initially posted about?

The one you've just bought to replace the earlier one. I use the same with my A1200 with a dell monitor.

Good news! The adapter arrived and works!

Bad news, everything is shifted to the right of the screen, and I don't have any centering functions on the monitor. The right edge of the workbench screen is hard up against the right side of the monitor, which I can live with, but when it comes to demos and games that use the border for the graphics, I'm losing a chunk of screen. Anyone had this issue, or know a way to fix?

You can fix it for Workbench with the Overscan preferences, but for programs that don't use the OS there's nothing more that can be done.

In the overscan settings, I can change the resolution, but no matter what resolution I have it, it still hugs the right of the screen. How do I change the screen position.

*** EDIT ***

Ignore me, I'm an idiot, I was in Screen Mode, not Overscan settings... All sorted now
