Game changes screenmode

There's a few games (AB3D / Citadel etc.) that do a screenmode change to PAL (AB3D before the menu, and Citadel after the menu).

The code that does the write in both cases seems to come from packed/encrypted data, so it's a little beyond me to unroll it, modify it and roll it back, and merge it back to the file it came from..

Is there any sort of tool I could use to either trap/modify the write to dff1dc, or something "gameshark like" that stays resident, that I could use that will keep writing at regular intervals to the register so the screenmode will revert back?

I have similar problems here to. Can anyone help us with this. I know this is a simple problem but its taking me to much time to fix it. Any help would highly be appreciated.

Got AB3D.. Tried it for a little while so, I'm not 100% there's anymore mode switches hidden eleswhere.. but..

HD isntall the game, backup the abd.pk, Use XfdDecrunch (aminet) on the abd.pk file, then with a hex editor search for the following hex string "33fc 0020 00df f1dc" (MOVE.W #$0020,$00dff1dc) replace it with NOPs "4e71 4e71 4e71 4e71" so the game stays with with whatever mode you started in..

still hope someone knows of a tool like I mentioned before.
