Exclamation Bug in WinUAE 2.0.1 hdd emulation

I can reproduce this every time with 2.0.1 version, with 2.0.0 works always:
1. quickstart set to "Expanded WinUAE example configuration" (high-end expanded configuration)
2. hard drive menu: "Add directory or archive" (entered required data...)

With 2.0.1.0 I get "No disc present in device DH0" requester EVERY time
Just by overwriting 2.0.1 version exe with 2.0.0 version, running things again and setting everything the same - hdd emulation works.

Regards

@Kyon
Hm..did you used configuration settings like I wrote? Because it works for me also when used with other quickstart options and adding hard drive, but with "Expanded WinUAE..." and 2.0.1 .exe it does not see hard drive path... I also deleted all config files before testing it just to be sure there are no conflicts between different configuration options.

Logs please. (and this isn't nothing important, that quickstart config is just a base for custom configuration)

Here are the log files...looks OK to me...but tested again and again and I still get "No disc present in device DH0" with 2.0.1 and all ok with 2.0.0 version.

Yes, path is C:\WinUAE\Hard...BTW, I did a little comparison of winuaebootlog.txt files and in 2.0.1 log there are extra lines starting with Filesystem charset (ACP=1250)... WinUAE filesystem codepage problem maybe?

Regards

Attach also winuaelog.txt using 2.0.0. (Is path really supposed to be "C:\WinUAE\Hard"?)

I tried to add a bootable directory this way and it works here with winuae 2.0.1 !

@Infovs:

Make sure u press "Set configuration" after u choose "high-end winuae configuration" in quickstart panel, and then go to harddrives panel.

@amiga
No, unfortunately this does not help...Anyway, I tried on several different computers - 2.0.1.0 version always brings "No disc present in device DH0" and no, it does not work! 2.0.0.0 works. Since I truly believe that for other people everything is ok, my guess is that something is changed in the WinUAE 2.0.1.0 filesystem that affects my regional settings and my codepage only...but I'm just guessing..

Sorry to ask you this, but what kind of amiga computer are you trying to emulate ?

Is it an A4000 or an A1200 ?

ACP was only added to log in 2.0.1. 2.0.1 also does filesystem charset conversion differently but I don't see any national characters in the log (actually I don't see any problems in the log at all..)

Download http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae2.zip and attach winuaelog.txt again. (filesystem logging is enabled, much bigger logfile)

@Toni Wilen
Thanks Tony! But still "no go" for hdd emulation for me both on my laptop and home computer...And I would be sure that problem lies in my settings...but I deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Arabuusimiehet key, deleted all config files, set configuration described in first post..when used 2.0.0.0 exe (downloaded again both versions) - everything is working!? Repeated same thing, 2.0.1.0 - No disc present... Kickstart problem maybe? I don't know anymore...one thing I'm certain is that something is different in 2.0.1.0 version, at least for my system...

Regards

Smile WinUAE 2.0.x buga

Hi to all.

WinUAE 2.0.0 & 2.0.1 works fine in all my hdd drives. But really works more slowly, the speed go down around 30% or 40%.

Also some screen interferences persist on AGA modes. Specially using utilities like WBCtrl, MemOptimizer, MCP, etc.

In version 1.6.1, using the same applications, AGA modes works without interferences.

Bye

Hi Tony, and a Happy New Year! I think that with this latest exe you posted some things finally show something - with this new exe I got some weird and strange things happening! That's why I'm attaching 2 snapshots...When I select Add directory or archive and enter dh0, hdd, c:\WinUAE\Hard after I confirm with OK I got garbage characters! Pictures attached... (BTW, second snapshot shows dialog that I got AFTER I tried to change entered information, when I'm entering it for the first time and befor I press OK characters are normal). I checked and this garbage lines are also saved with config if I save them so with this version there's no way hard will boot, but I started WinUAE and attached resulting winuaelog.txt anyway...

Regards

Thanks, could you also attach your config file? (EDIT: it says C:\WinUAE\Hard in previously attached config file?)

Quote:
FS: Ðü (flags=00000000,E=1,ED=0,EF=0,native='C:\WinUtils\Hard')
starting..
Garbage characters at the start shouldn't cause this problem but E=1 means drive is marked as non-existing. ED=0 and EF=0 means WinUAE can't find path 'c:\WinUtils\Hard' -> drive is not mounted. Confusing..

Quote:

This is also confusing..

EDIT2: "directory 'C:\WinUtils\Hard' not found, mounting as empty drive" in your log. You sure you used correct path?

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.zip have small chance to fix at least something.. Attach winuaebootlog.txt again (I missed the problem in previously attached winuaebootlog.txt, it has quite bogus conversion table..)
