Glitchy Horiz Lines With WinUAE2000
Between 2000b26 and 2000 a bug appeared. It happens with NTSC, PAL, and Productivity modes. The bug appears when the display is busy changing, it can really be seen using ScreenMode and moving the color slider back and forth. It looks like short horizantal lines appearing and then disappearing all around the display like random noise.
So far I haven't found what is doing it, D3D, null, and no filter does it. I've played around with the cpu settings, sound, display, filters, ram, and several others with no luck. Hopefully this will be a good enough report for you to reproduce. To make sure I tried B26 again and no problems. |

I just fired it up and instantly noticed it to , just holding left mouse and drawing the drag square. Running a dblpal workbench. No issue seen on rtg config. No filter in use.
I cant narrow it down to any particular setting but using finegrain_cpu_speed the noise changes position while moving between cpu<--->chipset. |

I did some more checking and it appears to be a AGA related problem. I've been using a 3000 config with AGA so I switched to Full-ECS and the problem went away. Since 3000+AGA doesn't exist I changed it to a 4000 config+AGA and it still does it.

I can only see corrupted sizing gadget in WB (blitter onedot non-ce line mode is borken). I can't duplicate anything reported here.
(it is usually bad idea to just report "it happens in AGA WB" when it is always nearly guaranteed to not happen in all WB configurations. Always test with non-modified WB disk images first) Perhaps http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.zip fixes it, perhaps not.. |

I just tested new exe and the issue persists.
I used A1200 no expansions quickstart profile. Added 3 drives and inserted workbench 3.1, extras3.1 and storage3.1. Allowed workbench to load, and executed the dblpal monitor driver from the storage disk. Opened screenmode prefs from extras disk and set dblpal hires no flocker, and use. Hold left mouse to draw a drag square and can see the noise issue. if a wbpattern is quickly setup, the noise stands out even more. Last edited by Mad-Matt; 27 February 2021 at 14:33. |

Another thing I noticed is that the FPS drops, thus making the emulation a bit slow. Winuae public beta 26 worked without this issue. Something have got to be changed between beta 26 and the final. |

Weird. I can duplicate it now but I haven't found any change after b26 that could cause this..

How about of some sort of memory leak, a line of 0s getting written to the display memory and then the correct thing getting written over that.
For me it happens anytime the display changes, even with a CLI window during the displaying of the contents of c: causes the noise. Grabbing a hold of a slider with the left mouse button and moving it really does it. I first noticed when I opened the system drawer and then again when I opened Prefs. During the actual opening of the windows the noise appears all over the display and then goes away once the display stops changing. |

The lines I see are black and probably 3 to 4 times longer. They don't appear when the display is stable, only when things are changing which is why there's no picture. When they appear they randomly appear all over the screen, and for me they started after B26. They could be related, it's hard to say. |

I tried to capture the noise in action, but it only seems to be a few lines per frame. just ran wbpattern, and it goes mad while drawing the intuition window.

Multicolored crap only at the bottom is onscreen leds + buggy display driver. (3D Sprites since 2.0 betas, try switching to 32-bit Direct3D filter or vice versa. Or just disable onscreen leds.)
Not related at all and already discussed somewhere else. |

My problem occurs even with filters off, and I'm not using the on screen LEDs. The screen shots I looked at from earlier posts don't look anything like what I see, also it started with 2000, so maybe there's two problems going on here, or maybe it's the same problem but shows differently on different systems.
I'd do a screen shot but it only does it when the display is in the process of changing, the rest of the time it looks perfect. |

If you look at the screenshot you can see where I positioned the mouse holding the left mouse buttom down. Without moving the mouse the lines continually bounce around the screen randomly. The screen shot caught a few lines if you look closely, but there were a lot more when I actually pushed the buttons for the screenshot.
More testing, it does it with full screen and windowed, I'm using 3.9. I tried 3.1 also and it also does it, the amount of noise isn't as high though. |

I'll try to fix this soon but unfortunately I am really busy this week (main reason why I had to release 2.0 before monday)
