Hi, Hungry Horace is looking for the french version on whdload page . So I think, that english and german version is already done? I also could test a beta slave because I like that game so much. FD

sorry, but no they are not done
i had wanted to source all versions first. I dumped my own (english) copy for SPS, but i have yet to recieve any .ipfs for that yet. I have however, looked at some extended ADFs i have for it, but i will need to learn a lot more about Rob Northen Copylock stuff before I am able to do anything with it! i can, but they wont work, so i'm not sure why you'd want them?
As i mentioned, they are copy-protected, and simply produce a black screen. I created ADFs because the files are DOS and still accessable. |

I had a look at patching this game today and already have a working patch which supports the English (Rob Northen Copylock encrypted executable) and German version. I only need to disable the requester for the load/save disk and then the patch is finished, it will most probably be released in the next days.

I will support the French version now that I have the images. I'd be surprised if it really is dongle protected though, most versions aren't protected at all. But I'll check.

This game with dynablaster, Robocop 3, leviathan, bat 2, in its french release is dongle protected. I have owned the Atari ST version, it was dongle protected (missing in the box is crashing once you arrive on the france cardmap.
Ackerlight have failed to deprotect the game, as it bombs out once on the map. |

Checked your version and it doesn't start, seems to perform a protection track read or something similar, just displays a brown box without any text. I already found some suspicious code, will check further when I'm back home from work.

Are you sure you uploaded a working version? There seem to be several files missing, game tries to load "jumbo.prg" and fails (thus the brown box), once I copied it from another disk the intro picture was at least shown. Looks like something is wrong with your version. And I'm still not convinced that it is dongle protected.

Ackerlights crack have this file on disk.
As a last resort, would copying that file to the original image work ? [edit] Disk label on original disk 1 image says "copy of Voyage_au_centre_de_la" Something is not right here. Last edited by Retroplay; 04 March 2013 at 10:17. |

Can you upload the Ackerlight version please? Then I can compare, I'm still quite sure the game is unprotected. The disk name is probably correct, the German version has disks named "copy of bla bla" too.

I have checked now, there are indeed quite a few files missing on disk 1 in Denis' version. Copied missing files from the Ackerlight version and the game works fine in my patch! No cracking required so far but since I spotted some suspicious code this morning I'll check a bit more. Denis: What kind of dongle is it? One that's plugged into the serial port? |
