Hooooo Amimastergear runs like hell!!!

I just tried amimastergear to play Alexkid, but it runs with 260fps! tottaly unplayable, and the emulation speed option it has does not work... is there a trick to make it work OK? I remember it run fine on my csppc, I now use it on a MK2/060-60mhz....

Does it have a vsync option anywhere? That would lock it to 50/60Hz....

The Ami Emulators are very good when they work but a lot of people are haveing problems and as the Author is probably long gone from the scene could a WHDLoad slave or other third party tool be used to make them more compatible.

also I checked alexxkid in winuae and it's OK
but
some wb patches can affect the program sync
try to run amimastergear without startup-sequence ,without setpatch and check if works fine

Disable CPU cache at the early startup screen perhaps?

Hi.

Retrieving this old topic from the graveyard, but i have the same problem.
On A4000 with Cyberstorm 68060 MK2 50MHz i have more than 200 fps on the "Real" speed setting, even more on Fast or Turbo and games are too fast to play.
On the other side of the desk, the A1200 with Blizzard 1260 50 MHz is perfectly fine.

How come?

Same behaviour with AmiMSX.

I tried to set cpu to nocache, but then games are way too slow even on turbo settings.

Apparently, every Amiga subject seems to have been discussed on one board or another in the last 20 years, and someone gave settings able to lock the games at 71 fps on Amiga.org https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=28163.0

However, it does work with some games but not so much with others. Sonic is ok and does work at 71 fps. Golvellius starts at a crazy almost 300 fps and locks at 71 in the first cave then freezes the computer instantly. Asterix (first game) runs fasts at the intro and menu, then at 71 in game.

Very weird.
There are only two reasons so far i have kept my A1200 alongside my A4000 :
1/ AmiMasterGear perfect on the 1200 and no good on the 4000
2/ Scanlines on the 1200 and no way to have them on the 4000

If a solution arises for both, i can save desktop space for something else.

I have discovered something that might be of interest in order to fix this.
Play it on a Vampire 1200 V2 and it shows a blazing 399 FPS but appears to play at normal speed in REAL in my test games (Golvellius and Rastan).
In FAST, it shows 60/60 FPS and still seems normal, even better than normal.
In TURBO, again 399 FPS but this time crazy unplayable speed.

But anyway, i got no problem with it on an A1200 with Blizz 1260.
