Actually, the files (diskimages) from Viddi and Aladin are exactly the same as on the Original Lotus Trilogy.

The difference is, that in the Archive that Viddi uploaded, there is a custom "HD Loader".

The Files:
lotusfix (which sets screenmodes and options like showing the Lotus Trilogy Logo) &
alotusloader (which is heavily modified compared to the orginal cd32 release)

The MOD Audio Tracks are in the CD32 Lotus3 Images,

so; why not request a WHDLoad install for "Lotus 3 CD32" or the whole Trilogy ?

There isnt; really.

Yes, the Aladin Generic install uses the same modified/hacked alotusloader file (the same as you uploaded).

(i think that modified alotusloader is mainly there for using the Audio-Mod´s again in Lotus3 CD32 instead of the CDDA Tracks)

With a proper WHDload Slave we could go back to the WB (quitkey) and would be able to save saving settings and Highscores.

So a specific Lotus 3 CD32 WHDLoad Slave would be very neat.
(Lotus2 runs great anyway)

I think the reason that the CD32 Lotus 3 runs better is because it was patched for 2mb chip-mem.

(the very same patch, you got, when you had send the disks back to Gremling
because the floppy version would not run on an A1200*)

(*without using a degrader tool)

The Original Lotus 2&3 had a Chip-Mem bug that crashed those games when played with more than 1MB Chip-Mem.

JOTD could tell you more about this

does the later 'adapted' for cd32 versions could contain some microfix for ocs/ecs too?

im doing some tries atm, and both Lotus1 and 2 (both cd32 versions) seems working perfectly fine on a 2MB 68000 OCS/ECS system

idk
Lotus 2 & 3 got changes. (likely the AGA fixes and manual/protection removal)

(there where also problems in Lotus 3 with the Manual protection for other languages)

Here, you can read about the Chip-Mem bug ...
http://zakalwe.fi/~shd/amiga-cracking/agafix-v1.html

;under the point "Faulty Memory Detection" there is some special mention about Lotus 2&3.

Edit PS: Lotus 1 CD32 is also different.

interesting link, thanks Torti

that Rocky levels on Lotus3 are indeed problematic, whatever game version or hw config you have

ie this code has a funny side-effect, tried in time clock mode (not championship)

NXXZXXXXX-20

3 easy laps, but after a while the other cars start to overtake you even if you are at the max speed

Your welcome

But yes, those mountain tracks... oh boy...
Well in fact, Lotus 3 is my least favorite.

1) Other Racers just plow through objects, like they where not even there. They not even trying to drive around them.
Just straight through... GREAT !!!! XD

2) The Zig Zak Driving of the Racers is the worst in this one.

3) You can lead with TONs of Points in the Championship, but because you finished 11 place on those stupid mountain courses ,you get a Game over !!! Well, THANKS you zig zaking maniacs :shout

4) there would be a whole list but .... i think you get the point.

Lotus 3 is my least favorite.
I like Lotus 1 the most. (so satisfying to stop at the right time for a "refill", and then barley cross the finsih line !! )
Lotus 2 is just so short and has no strategy to it at all. (but is a nice arcade racer)

Jaguar XJ220 is better then Lotus 3 !!! THERE, i said it !!!!

greetings, Torti

It definetly is. If it had a bit more colourfull graphics it would definetly be better in all respects. Zik Zak driving was bad in all of them, not sure why they kept it. They could at least have a few cars drive straight, that would probably be only a few bytes of code, but no, all cars must drive like that. Boring.
Also Crazy Cars III or Lamborghini American Challenge is also better.
