Black Crypt & LoD

Perhaps these are two very stupid questions, but...

I just saw a cover of Black Crypt at Exotica. On the game shots, the game looks quite colourful. When I play it on UAE, the entire game is tinted in a shade of purple. Is this how its supposed to be? Are the screen shots from another platform? (A notorious practice, that ) Or am I doing something wrong?

If I can ask a second question, I have been trying for months to get Lords of Doom to work- I've downloaded it from different places, tried it on different versions of UAE and Fellow with different configs. But the end result is always the same- it hangs after the intro!

Can anyone help?

Retroman- thanks mate, I already have downloaded the disk. But are you supposed to receive a prompt to insert it? Because all I get is a black screen after the intro!

Cody- no, my game has a distinct purple feel to it...

Solved Black Crypt- well, kind of, anyway... I use Fellow instead of UAE to play it.

Now for a confession...I haven't been able to work out how to take screenshots in either UAE or Fellow yet! If you guys could tell me, I'll post a purple picture for you to see...

If you are using WinFellow or WinUAE, then you can use the standard screen dump by pressing the PrintScreen key. Alt+PrintScreen will take a snapshot of the current window, rather than the whole screen.

Hmmm, I remember that effect when playing Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder I on WinUAE some time ago !! I´m not sure how I solved it, maybe I used another WinUAE Version, or did something on the settings, but for me it´s quite obvious, this is an emu problem, no corrupt adf´s IMO

Of course! everybody first blames poor ole ADFs.

When ADFs are faulty they shouldn't load or stuff up at the middle of loading, not tint your game with the wine your computer has taken

Exclamation

@Muzkat:

Lords Of Doom MUST be played with AT LEAST WinUAE 0.8.17 R2, just like I pointed out in the zone.
And I don't get a black screen with this game - if you still can't play it, you can have my config.

Thanx Andreas- I haven't got 8.17r2 yet, so I'll download it and give it a try.

Akira: Perhaps my computer is drunk...its been hanging around me too long, and it's picking up my habits.:smoking

Interesting...

I never knew Raven made a watered down version of Black Crypt for PC. I'm sure the miggy version will thrash it, though.

hey!

They did not make a wartered down version but the 2 level pc demo version is available for download off there site..plus the black crypt complete maps ... (they then went on to bigger things ..lol )

lot of people would have liked to see it completed as the amiga version was great..!

yes on the amiga its great...except when your trying to fight i sometimes pick up the damn weapon instead of clicking it !..
