So here we are with another qualifying round. Remember, we need at least 9 players to make the knockout, otherwise we will have to drop a round.
Anyone who wants to play Rainbow with us will stand an equal chance as the others. Note, you can only play in the knockout if you already played this year, (or basically, you played the Pinball Dreams round) so I can match players up based on their performance in Pinball Dreams. If we get more than a few players on this Classic game, when there is a Drop Zone (and nothing to do with Archer MacLean), where the lowest players will be dropped. Let's play on! |

I took out the part in the first post about the draws being based on the Pinball Dreams round, as I notice half of the players who played Rainbow Islands this year didn't also play Pinball Dreams. So it's back to the seeds as normal.

I've got a new PC and only just got round to installing WinUAE, hence why I've been away for a while (nothing to do with you John, sorry to hear if you are getting grief from anyone).
I've installed DamienD's collection. I must have done something wrong because I don't believe Damien would have made an error like this, but for me, the .adf for Rainbow Islands in his pack just seems to play the first world over and over. So for now, here is a score taken from the end of 1-4. 571,300 |

I've not heard anything about John getting any grief from anyone recently? There may have been some kerfuffle early in the league, with some issues unsettled among players, but for now I'm still sailing the ship on course. Although it does feel very lonely without John, and it's the first time I've had to do so. el_pasi and yourself both have rights to update the leaderboard, as you both are veteran players now. PM me if you forgot the link. |

Thank you. I know I wrote John above, but I got names mixed up... you wrote something here, I wasn't sure what it meant, but I just wanted to reassure you that there was no reason why I had been away for a while.

Ah right. If you remember a few years ago, a certain player, perhaps it was Ransom?, left the compo in a bit of a state, and now only a handful of players remain on EAB. This is sadly yet another year where I considered closing down the EAB compo next year, due to lack of interest. But there have been more than 10 EAB players this year, so there is still hope.
I was just saying that, perhaps due to the past, we are suffering on the EAB side the compo. It was probably my fault somewhere along the line, because when Biscuit came back, there were suddenly 4 or 5 players active. And then it fell away again. Unlike politics, this show hopefully works as a true democracy in that it takes more than one person (three in fact) to boot someone out of the compo, and I dont take decisions on my own. I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the players, and it's the players who have the power, not me. So that's why there is often some debate about the rules for any particular round, because I'm happy for players to report issues, and suggest things, which; if they make sense; usually get made into rules. This kind of co-op is shared ownership, where everyone owns the compo, and it means I don't have to manage on my own when I can't do something myself. It's a Players Union, where I set out a frame work as the Chair, and if it works then that's great, it's up to others to vote and campaign for their own way - not my way (otherwise we would be playing Captain Planet each round, he-he). Hi Harry!
Thanks for being our 9th contestant, We needed the extra one. You can ignore the leaderboard, as the code for it is old, we changed the dropzone a few years ago. |
