VNC & WinUAE

Probably completely useless to most people....
Would it be possible to incorporate VNC-server/viewer compatability into WinUAE?

Why?
Server side:
If the PC is running WinUAE I get a Workbench screen on whatever PC is running a viewer but mouse/keyboard input goes to the PC/UAE not the Emulated Amiga - so no way of interacting with Workbench over the network. 'Fixing' this behavior would be great.

Viewer side:
Could a VNC-viewer such as Ultr@VNC be incorperated into WinUAE - maybe a plugin?

Amiga Native VNC:
They do exist, but the better ones don't function with WinUAE ( mmu ). Also running from within the emulator makes them very heavy on resources.

Thanks.

You probably need to select "mousehack mouse" and use mousehack Amiga-side utility (in "Amiga Programs"-directory)

Thanks for the swift reply.

I'll give your suggestion a go.

My appreciation for your hard work on this great emulator.

WinUAE is compatible with VNC Servers.

Start your server on PC1.

Start WinUAE on PC1.

Start your viewer on PC2.

Control WinUAE (and Windows) via keyboard & Mouse connected to PC2.

If you find that the mouse / keyboard isnt going to WinUAE press ALT+TAB, ALT+TAB and then left click.

I find that the mouse speed is usually WAY too fast and I've got to use 10%

I use UltraVNC for my server.

Mode switches, such as going to/from full screen cause VNC to disconnect, but I think that is normal.

If you are sending the picture over the LAN, to keep WinUAE working well, I recommend that you use the Video HOOK driver, also known as a "mirror driver". Drastically reduces the amount of CPU power the Server needs

Thanks for the suggestions.

Ultr@VNC is also the version I use for the features you mention.
