The manual hunt
I have a couple of manuals that I just need a scan of the cover. I'll update the list in this thread if I find more that needs to be scanned and remove those that got scanned.
Here we go: Alien Storm - Manual-DE-ENG-FR (It's the whole instructions) Apidya - Manual-FR Batman - The Caped Crusader - Manual-DE-ENG-FR-IT (The 'cover' picture part would be enough) Beneath a Steel Sky - Manual-FR Beneath a Steel Sky - Technical Handbook-FR Beneath a Steel Sky - Comic-FR Berlin 1948 (East v West) - Manual-DE Berlin 1948 - Street Map-DE Blobz Dangerous Streets (CD32) - Manual-ENG Fernandez Must Die - Map Fighting Soccer - Manual-DE-ENG-FR-IT Fly Harder CD32 - Manual-DE-ENG-FR-IT Indianapolis 500 (Original release) - Manual-DE Italy 1990 - World Cup File-of-Facts-ENG Legend of Kyrandia - Manual-FR Lords of the Realm - Manual-FR Magic Worlds (Chrystals of Arborea & Dragons Breath) - Manual-DE-ENG-FR - The last page of the manual (with the Silmarils logo) Naughty Ones - Manual-DE-EN-DK - This time not the cover but the first double page of the German section is missing. It should say something like 'Naughty Ones - Benutzerhandbuch' on the left page. Pacific Islands - Manual-FR Red Baron - Manual-FR Simon the Sorcerer 2 - Manual-ENG-FR Speedball - Manual US (The second page is missing. Compare to the second manual in HOL) Storm Across Europe - Manual-ENG Super Tetris - Manual-FR Team Yankee - Manual-FR Terrorpods - Manual-DE Vroom - Manual-FR If you own the corresponding manual it would be great if you would consider scanning at least the cover (P.S. If the format of the manual names looks familiar you might get a clue why I need those scans ) Source for the watermarked manuals: https://retro-commodore.eu/files/dow...iik.net/Games/ Last edited by TCD; 03 January 2024 at 11:33. |

I am moving house so everything is packed up, but I will be unpacking in a few weeks and will probably come across at least one of the above.

Another batch of covers have been added. Maybe there are a few that people could scan?

I've been trying to hunt down as many Amiga manuals as possible in the last weeks and mainly thanks to Carsten of Retro Commodore and Howard of Museum of Computer Adventure Game History who kindly gave permission to use their collections on HOL I have been able to add quite a few new manuals to HOL. Here's a little geeky list to show the progress:
Games with manual: 2418 - 26.06.2022 2503 - 03.07.2022 2550 - 12.07.2022 2560 - 18.07.2022 2592 - 24.07.2022 2627 - 01.08.2022 2662 - 05.08.2022 So around 250 entries now have manuals that didn't have any before. Additionally a lot of entries had new manuals/instructions, cluebooks etc added. Special thanks to Independent who not only has constantly added his own manuals, but also has helped out with reworking manuals. Also special mention to a anonymous contributor from a1k.org who is contributing high quality manual scans from his collection. There's still some material to go through, but now it's a good time to look at the HOL search for missing manual entries and check if you don't have the game: https://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?N_nb_manual=no If you have a manual for any of those games it would be great if you could scan the pages and send them our way |

Guess it's time for an update: 2746 - 09.11.2022
Still would like to point to the first post in the thread. Only one scan is needed to have the manual available. |

In the zone the Rework from Space Ace - Manual-DE-FR-IT.
https://hol.abime.net/2017/manual You can DL the files saved as page images from the PDF and the Cover, the Page 19 and 21 in the Affinity file format here, 1 Week from today. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtSy3rXWyFoUg4B0...9XZmg?e=zAOods 1.) Download the PDF and remove the Password If available 2.) Save the PDF as Picture 3.) if necessary correct the resolution 4.) Rework every Picture (It is usually easier to copy text or letters from somewhere else (within the manual) than to repaint it. Pages 19 and 21 are two pictures where I did this, straightening, remove stains and so on) 5.) Create the PDF and check the files. error found? go to 4 and rework the Picture, save the picture and replace the Picture with the faulty image. Remove the bookmark and Save the PDF as searchable, upload to The Zone..... |
