Strange display on boot
Hi all,
Has anybody seen this before? My A2000 produces this strange display on boot. When I try the Diagrom, the machine doesn't boot. It is as though the middle section has been erased along with outline of the hand. Last edited by Kepler; 03 April 2024 at 15:34. |

Battery damage has been "resolved". The ROM socket has been replaced. The capacitors - no. Would you recommend all the electrolytic ones should be replaced?

Had a different problem related to graphics today and found this. Maybe it helps:
https://retrocomputerverzamelaar.nl/...miga-problems/ it says: Scrambled video loss or composite sync. 8370 – 8372/8375 U2 (U101 A2000) 74HC245 U41 (74HCT244 U205 A2000) RP403 |

Given the Kickstart comes that far, the system is mostly "good".
Could be an issue with the Denise chip. But given that you did not provide any further info (what's the history of the system? Did it work earlier? Can you boot a disk? etc.), it's hard to tell what's going on. |

I have tried a different Denise. I received the machine in a non working state - black screen - but after replacing the ROM socket and fixing one trace (CPU to ROM pin 22), I managed to get this far.
I can't boot a disk. My Gotek doesn't boot and neither does a normal drive. As I mentioned, neither my 1.2 nor my 1.3 show anything, yet with a normal ROM, I get this far... |

I replaced U205 and the resistor pack to the right (RP203) as the schematics show a few connections between the two. My A2000 doesn't have RP403.
There has been a slight improvement but still not near to where it should be. Should I continue replacing the components around that area as I am really not sure what else to do. |

The rest of the functions seem fine. I can boot a disk. The mouse and keyboard works fine. The audio is fine. I am almost there... |
