help - Price for a GVP A530...
Right, think the time has come to sell my A530.
What price do you lot reckon for the following; Software Manuals A530 with 68030 EC (no mmu), FPU, 2MB RAM, 170MB SCSI HDD loaded with 1.3WB... Nice n clean PSU Scuffed on the bottom of the case New exhaust fan £180 - £200 seem reasonable or should I just wang it on eBay starting at 99p with a reserve of £180??? I think you're being little bit optimistic. It would fetch that price if it had full 8mb ram and a full 030 CPU.
Though I haven't watched the prices lately. Alexh says there's some craziness going on so you might get lucky. |

Yeah that's true. I'll lower the reserve a tad and see what happens. There aren't any on at the moment so I could always say it's the last one in the whole wide world

Take it to bits and thoroughly clean it.
Take lots of photos of it (super sized hosted outside ebay) Inside and out. Include the full 8Mbytes of SIMM DRAM. Include details about which ROM version it has (4.15 being the last). Offer it world wide and get some prices for shipping to various places in EU and USA included using the eBay international postage feature. Offer a D.O.A. warranty. (i.e. insure it before postage and include that in P&P costs) Perhaps show some SYSINFO benchmarks, that usually gets people salivating. You should easily be able to reach £200, perhaps £350. I dunno why (cos it is crap) but this is the most sought after accelerator for the A500 after the impossible to find Viper A530. Post links to it on eBay to all the known Amiga-forums. comp.sys.amiga.marketplace etc. Be honest and mention the PSU is UK and explain how cheap it is to get another, or use ATX PSU. |

Just out of interest... what kind of 030 is it? PGA (with pins underneath) or PLCC?

As whiteb states, I also believe that the 030 is socketed to be honest
