Gotek usb internal drive problem
I just recently got a usb gotek drive. I have it booting up with the adf selector and running games. The problem is I am unable to use multi disc games. I load the discs on the slots then when it asked for disc two I select number 2 on the lcd display (disc two was loaded in slot 2) and press the mouse button as asked. It pauses for a second then asked for disc two still. I even tried going through all the slots I had assigned just in case. I had the same problem with all multi disc games I tested.
single disc games I tried lots and they load but don’t respond to key input and 1 that did had graphic issues. All standard FLoppy disc load and my HD0 games work fine on A1200 Any advice for a new gotek user? |

Which amiga? Is the Gotek connected as internal or external? Is it df0 or df1? Are you booting the games from df0 or df1 via kickstart 2.0+?

Let me ques, you are using Cortex firmware? If so that is a "feature".
You should program your gotek use HxC or FlashFloppy firmware. I can also suggest to add OLED display to it as it really easy task. Just connect wires and make display hole little bit larger. You wouldn't need a selector after that if you don't have hundreds images on usb stick. |

I purchased this from eBay, just checked the listing details:
“GOTEK floppy EMULATOR with latest filmware by cortex Simple install and replacement of the new Gotec HxC usb drive. Just add your favorite adf files to the micro usb 8GB card ( very easy to do on the PC ) All GOTEK drives are tested before despatch on my A1200” Thanks for the reply utri007. So you think the problem is the firmware? |

If it has a HxC you should update it, it is easy, just correct file to root of usb stick. Turn machine on, and press both buttons same time and keep them pressed 5 seconds? Release and HxC updates itself. Cortex firmaware is very limited and your problem is well known feature of it. |

Thanks for the replies . It was running cortex firmware. I have got it working now at last. It turned out the problems stemmed from a faulty mouse and a few corrupt adf files.
When the games booted and were waiting for a mouse click I tried a joystick and the fire button worked. The game then started and continued on with the next disc. There Was also several games I tried that had corrupt adf files. I tried new versions of these and they worked fine this time with the joystick |
