The Thirteen Greatest Error Messages of All Time

http://technologizer.com/2008/09/18/errormessage/

"Guru Meditation" from the Amiga makes it into the list

No prizes for guessing what's number one...

Anyone who's used lotus notes will love "Invalid or nonexistant document" which can pop up whenever you try to do, well, anything.

@rare_j: I don't remember that in Lotus 3, when does that happen?

Mmm, that one is the best one of all... remember it fondly, even though I never used a Mac.... just that it's a well known error.... and still hardly anyone mentions it.

Bombs were a Mac thing too IIRC (way back to OS1.0! ;P)

HAH! What a menagerie of frustrations...

Well, I guess it was inevitable that the winner would indeed be the winner... Kind of funny that Red Ring of Death is now so famous that it's on the list, since it's not a software-error, like most of the others, but a PURE HARDWARE error. 0_0

I would have expected to see Division by Zero, Syntax Error, OUT OF MEMORY - those are classic... but the worst one I've ever seen in my life is called "Checksum error on block xxxx"

Syntax Error from the C64 for me, as I was a fairly handy BASIC programmer in the day...

But should that one really count? From what I've seen on that page, this error message was only from movies, like Lost in Space. It's not a real error message...... or does it exist on real-non-fictional computers? If not, it shouldn't really be on the list imo.

Personally I witnessed "Volume XXXX has a read/write error" quite often during the good old Amiga years.
