OS3.2 Blank Screen

Hi All,

Just purchased a copy of OS3.2 but have installation issues.

If I install to a freshly formatted DH0, or if I install from a perfectly fine 3.1.4 installation, or indeed if I boot from the 3.2 Workbench disk itself, I get a completely black screen, so i'm wondering if this is a display issue?

Booting into any other version of Workbench is fine.

For info - my Primary display is VGA via an Indivision Mk2 from Individual computers.

Appreciate any help guys - it's driving me round the bend.

Do you have 3.2 roms or can you map a 3.2 rom to memory, if so then try the safe startup option.

I use 3.2 with an indy mk2 ok

I'm not using a 3.2 ROM only a mapped 3.1.4 ROM - TBH, I couldnt find a 3.2 ROM for the A500 included on the installation CD. Does one exist?

It should do, but didn't realise you were using an a500 ?

What are the specs of the A500? Does it have fastram?

Hi All,

All fixed!

It turned out that all I needed to map the 3.2 Rom. Simple as that - I went on a wild goose chase thinking that a 3.2 rom wasnt needed. Anyway all fixed now!

They recommend at least 2 MB for a 3.2 install. Also, icon.library and workbench.library have been pulled from the kickstart to free up space for other stuff... so these should be copied to libs: beforehand (the install will probably do this itself; I had to do it manually myself for several different reasons).
It should work with both kickstart 3.1, 3.1.4 and 3.2, however.
