FSR3 and WinUAE
Now that frame insertion is all the rage, would it somehow improve the smoothness of Amiga games in emulation?

It can't make a jerky game running smooth. That's just not how it works.

why not? maybe not for scrolling, but why not for animations in between frames? |

It surely will do something to scrolling, possibly it looks good in some situations and horrible in some others. Probably.
(and I am not really interested unless someone else confirms it being useful, at least in some situations) |
