workbench problem

hi

can anyone jog my memory in how i can get rid of the background paper (grey) behind the text? i have a nice workbench wallpaper background and it ruined when i get patches of grey behind the text on the desktop icons!

i know there is a way to make them transparent. i have got amiga os 3.9 and i cant remember whether you could use the prefs to get rid of it or use something else?!

Nope, that's for the icons only, not for the text.

Prefs/Font -> Workbench Icon Font -> Mode = Text

hi ok i managed to do that (funnily enough it was already slected but wouldnt activate until re-selected!). Next question how do i change the workbench icon text colour without changing the other icon text colours?! again i m sure i dont this years ago but forgotten how to do it?!
