And now we're playing them back-to-back in the league. Well, besides their release date they do have another thing in common - for each of them you could argue it's the best Amiga game ever created. Slam Tilt has more impressive visual effects and mini games but by raw gameplay Pinball Dreams is still superior in my opinion (with unmatched music). So after the maybe best Amiga game ever in round 2 we're going to play maybe the best Amiga game ever in round 3. |

It's almost a given that capehorn is going to wrap the score on Beat Box again, thus let's go with his solution from 5 years ago:

I think it's the only workable solution, as you can't prove what scores above 10b should be, without posting a full video and asking the mods to get forensic with their calculators out.

It's still a very difficult thing to do! You need to hold and double the bonus, and get extra balls for about 10 balls in a row, I wouldn't say it's a given, although I will be trying! With scores like that possible, it might make the most sense to just play that one table for the three weeks hoping that you manage it at least once. Another possible solution might be to just play the other three tables? Last edited by capehorn; 12 February 2023 at 18:41. |

I think that we should have a plan before the round starts for what proof is required to post a score of 10bn+. I was lucky that I was able to provide a video last time out, and even more lucky that the time before my final score was 19,700,000,000ish, which displayed at 9,700,000,000ish which is close to the maximum that the scoreboard can display anyway, so I wasn't too concerned whether the 10b was believed or not (I should emphasise how lucky that was, the end score could have been anything, it was dumb luck that it settled in the 9 billions, had I scored slightly more and had just over 20bn, the entire 20bn would have disappeared and I'd have had no proof). Similarly, there is a situation where someone could score 10,100,000,000 and the final score displayed as just 100,000,000 but not have full proof that 10 billion points had been truncated from their score.
The good news is that this won't happen out of the blue, the player will know when they are approaching a score in this region and if we let them know what proof is needed, they should be able to provide it. I'd say once a score reaches 1bn, take a screenshot of it in-play, and continue to do so at the end of each subsequent ball. Then at least two more screenshots, one of the bonus being tallied/added (the bonus in this scenario would probably be in excess of 1bn itself) and then a screenshot of the subsequent score after the bonus. If the score has wrapped after the bonus has been added, then this should be evident from these three screenshots. There is still a possible problem with this - imagine a player with a score of 2bn and a bonus of 2.6bn which is multplied by 4. The bonus would wrap so that instead of being 10.4bn, it would be just 400m, and the end score would show as just 2.4bn. A solution would be that the player could take a screenshot of the bonus when it is shown 1x (i.e. 0:09 in my video) and when it is shown 4x (i.e. 0:11 in my video), this would show evidence of the bonus wrapping. However the player would only have about 1 second to realise that this is about to happen before that evidence is lost! I'm just putting this out there to show what potential problems we could have with this. Of course a video would be preferable, although it's probably unfair to require it as from experience, if you've never taken a video from WinUAE it can be tricky to get the settings right (the video posted earlier I actually recorded in an uncompressed format, it cut out after 32 seconds because I ran out of disk space, I thought for a moment that meant that the video wasn't saved!) I think your suggestion works fine and is reasonable. Tbh. I think you will probably be the only one to be able to wrap the score anyway.
