Very Slow WinUAE after reinstall

I've just had a major problem with Windows XP and have had to reinstall it from scratch.

I've reinstalled WinUAE, copied everything over from the old installation, and am using the same Config file as before. (at least, I think I've copied everything over).

Problem, The Amiga is very slow. A second or so between icons appearing on the WB and at least 3 minutes before the WB background picture appears (I gave up at that point). The mouse is noticeably jerky.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Check the config, you probably use an old config file with a new WinUAE version. Check that JIT is enabled and it is set to "fastest possible".

Use the Windows update to install latest DirectX, graphics and sound drivers. Use dxdiag.exe to check if hardware acceleration is enabled.

Hi, Thomas

Sorry to have been so slow in replying, but my machine has been up and down more times than a yoyo

To cut a long story short, you were correct. When I (finally) got Windows and drivers all up to date, WinUAE suddenly worked again (Phew!)

Thanks for the advice

Regards
