Documentation for Micronics 68660, Elbox Zorro IV Busboard/Winner
Anyone have any english documentation for either of the above boards? Have one of each, would be nice to see them in use.

@alewis
I have both boards two. with the exception of also having the Z4PCI module for the Z4 busboard. Loopos was kind enough to send me an english pdf of the micronic busboard all i can find at the moment is the german version, if i get time i will photo copy it unless loopos beats me to it. ![]() |

@lopos2000
Although I already had that, via one of the hardware sites, big thank you! Do you know if it applies to the 6860 (rev 5.44) too? Anyone know why most of these - and A3/4k - expander boards are fitted with inactive ISA/PCI slots? *Other* than [possibly] with a Mediator, was there any point? I have an SBC card, but that needs a PCI and ISA in-line to work (so will go in one of the A4K expanders). Which, in anyone's opinion, is the "better" board between the two? Both have 5 x Zorro slots, and one video slot. I have the ZIV/Winner video adaptor which activates the slot. Is the video slot in the Micronics active? The Mironics has a plug fitted at top left of board. Anyone know what this is for? The ZIV/Winner has what appears to be floppy power connector just above the main PSU connector. What is this for? Thanks Last edited by alewis; 24 November 2006 at 10:13. |

I have an english manual for the 6860. It would need to be scanned in etc.
I also have the 6860 in my tower working fine with Spectrum 24/28, Highway usb and Apollo 1240 |

Smiley - do you have access to a scanner? If not, if I offered postage here and back?
Also, do you have [access to] a digital camera? be very interested of close up shots of your 6860 install, esp the power connectors (from board to PSU) and jumper configs. |

Ta, although the expander board itself is powered: - the Micronics has 3 components: a trapdoor passthrough board, the Onboard-1200 trapdoor board, and the Ob-board zorro expander. Its the middle item I'm trying to figure out power for, the expander itself is already powered.

alewis I have PM'ed you
The 6860 board has a Micronik power header on the board. I have a Micronik PSU but you may need an adapter cable There should only be two items you need for this 6860 board. A trapdoor passthrough board and the actual busboard. They attach using two long plugs. I really dont see how you are having trouble as it is easy to set up. |

PCI slots are unused although I think they have power going to them. Quote:

Need to post some labbelled piccies, I think I'm getting myself confused, as I have four expander boards; ZIV/Winner, On-Board, and 2 x Micronics 6860s

Technically its possible to use the PCI if you
1. use an A3000/A4000 accelerator card 2. use a mediator in the (now z3 active) slots and pci the problem is compared to the A3000/A4000 Z3 ports they run slightly slower (about 85% of true Z3 speed) and there is NO DMA but there are are so few that require pci addons that would require that (bennifit most likely but not require). this is hypothetical as the micronic busboard design would probly require that you extend either the zorro / pci slot so there in line. but either way its food for thought. |
