About firmware update:
https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/vi...hp?f=75&t=4365 in short: (copy and paste from stephens text) Ok ... so there will at some point be a firmware update to the TF1260. Here is a bit of FAQ... 1. The update will be free (no actual charge for the update at all). 2. The update will either be done physically (i.e. mail your card back to your builder) or if you have a Xilinx programming setup I believe we are looking at doing remote updates over something like teamviewer. 3. You will keep your serial number. 4. If you buy a second hand TF1260 you will not be eligible for the update (this is mainly to prevent people flipping them and price gouging). At present the plans for the update are 1. PIO-4 Mode ATA on the TF-IDE interface. 2. Burst mode performance. 3. removal of the 14 vs 50Mhz clock switching stunt.... which should allow higher clock speeds overall. I have at present done 1 and 2 but i have not started 3. Given the pain involved in the update i didnt want to have to do too many of them. I will also generally release jeds once a particular number of units sold has been passed. we're about half way. Those will not have specific serial numbers. Last edited by Chucky; 05 June 2021 at 23:03. |

There’s a photo now on exxos which shows the speeds for 75mhz. They confirm that the TF1260 scales ram speed beautifully. In fact, clock for clock it’s ram speed is equal or better to everything out there at the moment*, including Warp1260, Blizzard 1260 and matze’s own 68060-TK. Obviously these newer cards are still in development too so may change.
(*I leave out the vampire - think that has very rapid ram access but I am not sure what it’s figures are - I think maybe several hundred mb/s?) |

Erm... I thought Matze's card was doing better, sth like 80M/s?

I doubt whether those final few megabytes/s for fast ram make a difference in real-world performance.

Yes, I never thought to try it on my 500plus. I'll give that a bash at the weekend if I get a chance.

No luck here with TF1260 and my aca500plus. It gets as far as the config menu, and recognises the 060 is present, but it does the green screen of death once I try to start it up.
I have a 2mb Agnus (with a mega chip) If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it |
