Greatest pre-Amiga games not available on Amiga
(...oh great, another "Best of" thread.. but wait, this is slightly different)
What do you think are the three greatest (most fun, still playable today) pre-Amiga (1985 or earlier) games that have never been converted/cloned/copied in any form for the Amiga. Here's my top 3: 1. Montezuma's Revenge (specifically Atari 800 selectable level version without animated title screen) - I just played this game again with the ACE emulator and it is as fun and as playable as the best of the Amiga platform games. It would have been awesome if they made an Amiga version with more screens and levels to explore while still keeping the "feel" (and non-scrolling). I would have bought a copy for sure back in 1990. 2. Rescue on Fractalus (Atari 800 version is best) - This was amazing for its time and would have looked even better on the Amiga. There are lots of 3D shoot-em-ups on the Amiga, but none where you have to land and rescue guys (who could be aliens in disguise!). 3. Blue Max (not to be confused with the Amiga "Blue Max" flight sim) - This could be considered a scrolling shoot-em-up, but it's more fun than most and would have been one of the best on the Amiga. |

What about titles that were converted but were very different?
Ghosts 'n' Goblins was one of my favourites on the C64 but the Amiga version is completely different. |

There were a whole bunch I missed when I first upgraded to an Amiga, now I can't remember most of them...

Wonderboy is surely one of those games. If i'm not mistaken, it was never released for the Amiga. Only Wonderboy 2 was. |

1) Lords of Midnight (+Doomdark's Revenge sequel), the classic Speccy + 8-bit title.
2) Monty on the Run, the classic C=64 + 8-bit game. 3) Phoenix (a NEAT version), the classic coin-op. |

Raid Over Moscow could have been grand.
Some more: Monty on the Run Kung Fu Master Yier Kung Fu ... (bah, put lots of arcade conversions here that got 8bit ports but not Amiga pixel-perfect ports) Manic Miner lots of the Konami MSX games like Metal Gear (almost made it...) Re: Phoenix, there was MegaPhoenix, which ws okayish. |

It's funny someone should mention "Lords of Midnight". I ordered a bunch of free Amiga games including Lords of Midnight - which I had never heard of. When the games finally came, I found that it was a PC game that somebody put in by mistake.

Blue Max and Yie Ar Kung Fu are two of my favourite amiga games. Pirates of the Barbary Coast too, which was my alternative to Pirates! when I couldn't get hold of that.
