Wow it's now up to 300+ MIPs with an RPi3. The fastest 16-bit Amiga accelerator yet. For £50

I wasn't writing here for long time. There have been lots of updates to EMu68. Many opcodes fixed, many improvements. More software is working now without any issues. It is possible to use RasPi microSD card as hard drive, for that Amithlon-like MBR partitioning schema is used.
Also, mp3 decoding is working: [ Show youtube player ] Please note, however, this version is not optimal, as it is FPU-less version of mpega.library. Once FPU is complete enough, there should be another speed boost For more information please have a look at my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/michal_schulz |

Getting better and better, great!
If I get it right, it's full baremetal on PiStorm, all the linux counterpart (with its bonus stuff) is gone then? EDIT: never mind, just downloaded the AmiWest PDF and read "Direct access to all host peripherals"! Last edited by skan; 25 October 2021 at 11:05. Reason: RTFM |

Let mschulz get the bugs worked out first but you should just need a Kickstart version from 3.2 that uses the A500 host machine. I've heard that the newer Kickstart ROMs are 68000 friendly including AGA machines. This might help you but I don't own a compatible A500 accelerator yet. I'm kind of waiting for the PineBook Pro version of the JIT.
If you want the bugs fixed faster, back Dr. Schulz via Patreon or donations via GitHub backing I think. |

Depending how you would like to use Emu68. There are right now two variants available as nightly build: the raspi version works totally standalone on raspberry pi and allows you to run you own m68k software in bare meta on Pi.
The pistorm variant requires obviously pistorm to operate and it replaces the standard pistorm firmware. There you can use your amiga floppy drive. As a bonus there is m68k driver for raspi’s microSD card, so you can use it as a hard drive. For that you can use either hybrid movt+debug setup, or you need to create primary partition type 0x76 and the sdcard driver will expose it as separate unit. |

Yes, it is perfectly possible to install OS 3.2 on it. I’m using it that way in combination with pistorm. More detailed information on preparing you SD card for that will appear soon on GitHub.
Here you can see me booting OS 3.2 and starting AIBB: [ Show youtube player ] On YouTube you can also find some other recordings, including few demos or frontier intro (so that you can have an impression about the speed) |

Awesome! Yes, some more documentation on how to set it up would be nice.
I don't have a Amiga, so no Pi-storm. So running it on bare metal would be the thing for me. |

A small teaser for you guys.
Emu68 and PiStorm on A500, with my first pre-initial version of RTG video driver. 1280x720 mode in 32bpp: [ Show youtube player ] |

Thanks for the teaser.
It looks already good for a first pre-initial version |

Sorry, but I am also a bit confused about this...
So this is now being installed into a PiStorm instead of its usual Linux thingy, put into an Amiga and is then a super fast accelerator with RTG coming from the PI's HDMI port? |
