Quarterback

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any help they might be able to share.
Just been trying to restore some ADFs I imaged recently from some Amiga Disks. When I try and use the Quarterback disk I thought I used to use ... the contents look garbled or it reports the catalogue is corrupt. I tried 4 different sets ... with no luck. I tried as a test "ProPage v4.1 [Quarterback archive]" thats on the FTP site ... and no luck. Has anyone or can anyone try doing a restore of any Quarterback archive and let me know if you had any success?

When I converted RAW Kyroflux, it reported some problems when converting to IPF / ADF ... I'm wondering if Quarterback writes images to disk in a way that confuses Kyroflux ... and I suspect possibly all other "Quarterback" images will have this issue.

Ill try some different versions of Quarterback tomorrow ... although im feeling a little rough today ... so might be a few days. Would like to see whats on this 46MB worth of backups created.

I'm no expert in this field, but I believe that you have to use the "exact" same version of Quarterback that you used when archiving to unarchive.

Send a message via MSN to dlfrsilver
indeed. You need to pick all the quarterback versions of the tosec, and try them with the file you want to unpack.

Feeling a bit better today.

Had the chance this afternoon to try several versions of QB.
I've eventually found v5.12 for my backups to work yay.

That's another 43 disks I can send to landfill

I might try and zip up all the versions into one zip ... without all the other tools. Would this be useful? Then all you need to do is boot an amiga up with a hard drive, and extract those there. For me, I just have the emulator point to a folder on my hard drive ... easy to extract to / backup from.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Good news indeed; I'm very happy that you got it sorted
