Best Amiga pinball game that Digital Illusions *didn't* make
Yes, we all know Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/Illusions are probably the best pinball games on the Amiga. But what pinball games did you love that weren't those?

If we talk only about Amiga it will be Slam Tilt, I also like Obsession pinball - Paris Dakar table, Pinball Prelude - present table. Ultimate Pinball Quest could be better if tables were smaller and Pinball Mania lacks good ball physics.
As for other systems I like Epic and Psycho pinballs. |

I like Pinball Magic. Contains a lot of original features. But the answer to the question is Slamtilt of course.

Obsession Pinball is also very good, even if it is an Atari STE game port. I remember playing the demo from Amiga Power for hours. That demo was working only with 1MB chip RAM, so I had to obtain Amiga 600 just for this game. Later I was very happy when I got the full game with all the tables. I still play it occasionally on the Amiga X1000 with Hatari.

Ultimate Pinball Quest was weird and, I thought, pretty cool (and underrated)

Yes, I liked it but ice table was too empty, all bonus levels were nice which is not easy task for single screen table.

The table designs in Slam Tilt are very solid, some of them better than irl pinball machines can offer. |

I like Obsession but Slam Tilt is by far the best pinball game for the Amiga. Well it's probably one of the best games for the Amiga never mind just in the pinball genre, certainly a contender for the best AGA game.

Pinball Wizard was my 1st pinball game on the Amiga and I loved it. Until the Dreams/Fantasies was released. I think though Slam Tilt takes the award for this thread.

I guess I will go and play Slam Tilt then
I have to admit to not getting on too well with Obsession - the outlanes seemed somewhat magnetic. Or I could just be terrible. Pinball Wizard was the first pinball game on the Amiga I believe. It reminds me a bit of Advanced Pinball Simulator on the Spectrum. |

Slamtilt is the ultimate pinball game for Amiga in my opinion. Not that DI pinball games were bad, not at all, they were the definite landmark of the era and totally silenced the crowd and they were years ahead of their time, something people had never expected. Even on pc they had the smooth scrolling and as a bonus(we did it because we just could) nearly flawless mod playback through pc speaker. But as for simulating real pinball table atmosphere and rules, the makers of Slamtilt have definitely done their research well. Nonetheless, I'm still enjoying both games for their distinctive qualities.
Then a remark just off the top of my head, does anyone else think there is always one table in every pinball game that is really bad compared to the others |
