AmigaMCC build

After aborting my attempt at the Walker a year ago, just thought it would be too hard for a non modder like me, so instead for my first project I'm going to build the slightly easier but just as curvy AmigaMCC for my HTPC. So I already bought all the stuff so I better do it this time lol.

You can follow my progress here

Planning it out

got the tech,
the true work starts next.....

Don't misunderstand my words, but i believe that you have chosen the wrong material! I'd work with wood too if i were you, but curves as you well know, are a matter that solid wood is not easy to deal with. Unless you have all the necessary tools to do that, meaning you'd have to actually "sculpt" the shapes.
If i may make a suggestion, build the "skeleton" out of hard wood, and use balsa for the sides. Balsa can be sunk in water to soften, and then you can bend it to just about any desired shape...

Too late Jigsaw it!

I realise the curves need more work, but I dont think it too bad. A lot of standing lies ahead. more pics on site http://www.vincentperkins.com/AmigaNG/build.php
Also the lid on top (as shown) will mean I wont have to do the insides (thank god!)

PS: As long as I get 80% close to final design I will be over joyed!

I noticed you picked a 6 series motherboard, you know they were all recalled last week right? (Defective chipset, sata ports fail over time).

Later,

Bugger

I thought you were kinding, why did I buy a PC!

Well OverclockerUK which is where I got most of my tech from, says I will be fully covered if a recall is nessary, which is not clear at the moment. plus its only 5% of boards that are effected, and it only if your using SATA2 connections, the board I have has 2xSATA3 ports and 1 SATA2 port, which I wont be using any way so it may not be too much to worry about

But thanks for letting me know.
