LCD screen that does 15khz!

Reading through some forums I found this linke:

Therein is described that this BenQ monitor (model G922HDL) accepts 15Khz of scan, therefore making it work natively on any Amiga system.

It has few drawbacks, though:
- Image is deformed in NTSC and PAL modes and there's no setting to change to 4:3 display unlike other displays. With tools like MonED you can get a perfect Workbench image on 16:9.

- Super 72, Euro36 and A2024 drivers don't work.

- Interlaced mode flickers too much and you dont get to see every line.

- SuperHiRes modes are not shown properly because they exceed the monitor's horizontal resolution (1448 px).



This seems like a pretty good solution anyway, since it's cheap.

Ones based on LCDTV's will usually do 15KHz

NEC 1980Xi works fine (19"", bought in 2006). Accepts PAL (50Hz) & also can display 1024x768 (Picasso)

But you need a scandoubler to make it work, it won't go down to 15KHz.

Its eol now, but you may still be able to find it. The BenQ 241w series (24" widescreen)should work, has composite/svideo and works with my Scandex scandoubler (rgb ->vga). Might be fortunate to find one with 1:1 pixel mapping too.

I think I will buy one of these soon, I need a new monitor anyway (the Syncmaster 3 just won't cut it anymore)

I wish there was an easy-ish way to tell.. With all the fancy new HUGE LCD TV's monitors for cheaper prices, you would think that the smaller ones would be showing up on e-bay/goodwill/etc.. But it's kind of tough to carry an amiga with me with a VGA adapter and PSU where ever I go... :-)

@Akira: in "Ciudad de'l Este" (Paraguay) they sold the Fujilink A1902W (I have the A1901W version). It is a 19" wide screen LCD TV.

Will work with most Amiga modes and is pretty darn cheap.

Too bad I can't managed to go to Buenos Aires last year (Depeche Mode/Pet Shop "Boys" shows) since I was operated because my appendix get blow out (other time history).

I'm sure we can grab a (lot of) beer(s) and tell some awesome stories. I'm now under effect of 8x 500mL (over a pint each can for English people) Schneider beer and a bottle of Patagonian "Finca Azul" red wine.

Thanks. But I guess 15 kHz is the point of this thread. Also, screens that can be bought today. Have any tips about those?

Hi All

Today my ViewSonic VA2413WM 24inch has arrive.

I have TESTED the monitor it seems to be working.

Frequency: 22~82KHz; 50~75Hz.

I have set it up in Pal High Res Laced mode this is working.

I have load up Protrcker v3.1 this running fine.

Is there any other programs that I can fully test my monitor in Amiga or Win.

Chaps, i'm trying to see if my NEC Accusync will do 15khz atm, anybody know if it will or if there's anything i can check to see if it will?
i hope so as it also has built in speakers which would make life so much easier from an amiga point of view

My (now old) HP 2335 23" LCD display can display Amiga 15kHz at 60/50 Hz.

Are you sure is 15khz, the spec is 30-94Khz?

The Coby TFTV1022 (10 inch wide screen 800x480)and TFTV1212 (12 inch wide screen 1280x800) does 15KHz through S-Video input and 31KHz+ through VGA input.
Very good choice for an Amiga/Minimig laptop project and cheap: $100-$150.

Too small, I need just one monitor for PC and Amiga on my desk.
It would be nice if all of us could create a database of all known LCD monitors that support Amiga screen modes. Even if the screen modes are undocumented. That way you could have reference before you buy.
