WinUAE slow in fullscreen but fast in windowed mode
Hi guys. Just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 (yuck). When I run WinUAE in full screen mode, 800x600, it's very slow. When using the exact same settings, except in windowed mode, it runs without problems. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip. Upgraded them, but the problem persists. The sound is slowed down as well, as is mouse input. Doesn't really make sense... And as soon as I switch to windowed mode, even when UAE is running, it gets back up to full speed.

Have you tried running in full-window mode instead of fullscreen?

Windows 8 + DirectDraw fullscreen is very slow on some systems, I can also duplicate it. Direct3D works fine.

Yup, that was it. Thanks. Too bad D3D doesn't do pixel scaling as well as DDraw. Windows 8 has got to be the worst to come out of Redmond since, uh, Windows ME?

Windows 8 has some very nice under the hood changes, user visible changes aren't that good... |

Yes, not blurring the display seems to lead to that the pixels aren't equally big throughout the display, which isn't really noticable in demos but very annoying in DPaint. I'll try tweaking the settings you suggest, WinUAE has really become very advanced. Again thanks for your help, much appreciated!

Check filter panel filter mode: it should say "no scaling" or integer scaling for 1:1 pixel mapping.
