Duplicate exe in Path

I would test this but I'm on the train and want a quick answer

If I added two dirs to path and both contained an exe with the same name, what would happen if in then attempted to call that exe via Shell?

I'm assuming that it would simply execute the first one it finds? The first dir that was added?

Yes, it walks along the path and uses the first match.

It is even so stupid that it stops when it finds a file of that name, even if it is not an exe and even if there is an exe with the same name later in the path.
