Can anyone give Quake I a crack and see how it performs?

Quake would need some work for it to compile with only the ieee libraries and then it would be doing software floating point. Without chunky RTG, a c2p conversion would further slow it down. It's not worth the effort.

An older 68000 version of the Phoenix core was using the 68000 version of PC-Task to run Windows 3.1:

The 68020 core could be anywhere from barely faster to significantly faster depending on the code.
