If you're going to get another why not get a CPC6128 or 6128+?

I just prefer the looks of the good old 464 I also have plenty of tape games and cannot seem to find a tape deck for a 6128... and the disk games don't seem to be that common either (or they are too expensive).

I just remember playing the 464 as a kid with a couple of mates who owned one.. so i just had to get one, but mine turned out to be faulty I will do what you suggested and re-solder the RGB port on the motherboard (but if anyone else is still selling one then let me know ).

Erm, I gave the link to the best thing ever invented for tapes & Amstrads.

http://code.google.com/p/otla/

It encodes TAP & WAV files into highly accelerated MP3's that load in seconds. AFAIR it will even encode the game name into the MP3 TAG so it shows up on the LCD of your cheap £10 2GB Tesco MP3 player. The ultimate random access multi-game C90 TAPE

There are lots of videos of OTLA on YouTube showing the loading speed.

Oh yes i forgot about that! I don't mind using a tape then grabbing a coffee, eat dinner, watch a bit of TV, wash the car and take the dog for a walk while it's loading

That looks excellent. And I salute your taste PowerPie! The 464 was the prettiest of the CPC range - its those RGB colours keys that do it!
