Can't wait to see which games were on this list, I have the sneaky suspicion I don't actually know at least half of them.

Oh dear. I've done awful. Finally put some answers in but a lot of blanks and some wild guesses.
So many I've seen before but can't remember where from. Oh well, should be some enlightening reveals. |

I actually recognised #25 as timekeepers because I remembered it from a magazine (plus you can spot Vulcan game graphics a mile away)... and then I went to checkout screenshots in hol to confirm it and changed my mind. That's how difficult this stuff is
Aw man, the Micro Machines one is pretty dastardly. I have played that game so many times, but the portraits are kind of throw-away... Other than that, hunch confirmed. I have not actually seen the majority of these games, including ones where I have seen other games in the franchise. Which is good, because these games are going on my todo list |

Journey to Silius. Man, I was watching someone play that recently. Knew I recognised it. These were the wrong games Mr Horizon. The wrong games. Especially that topless lemmings smut.
Some cool stuff there. I've an urge to play Pocky & Rocky. |

I did exactly the same thing with 25th and gave up after seeing the screenshots. Memory served right but instinct told otherwise :-)

Didn't have a clue on 25 but felt it was an Amiga title...
Pleased that all the ones I didn't get, I wouldn't have got - didn't miss anything obvious. Well done guys - good quiz! Roll on August's.... |

I had a feeling there were one or two GBA games in there that were going to catch me out. Space Channel 5 and Double Dragon Advance did so.
I knew that 6 and 13 were SNES RPGs (they've got the look) but I just couldn't quite place them. I never had a SNES back in the day so I missed out on all those lovely looking RPGs and not enough time to catch up on them now. Well done everyone, and thanks again Mr Horizon! |

Yeah same, spikey haired dudes, a jRPG staple. I suspected Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger myself, but nope. I played quite a few of them emulated, but the protagonists all tend to look alike so they just blur together for me.

August Quiz - Merchants of Gaming "Here are my wares, would you like to buy something?" At some time in the 1980s, the "Item Shop" began to spread throughout computer games, having begun with dungeon crawlers like Rogue or Moria, and showing up in other genres as well - wherever one could spend hard earned ingame currency on new equipment inbetween levels. That shall be our theme for this round - the many faces of merchants, store clerks and salespeople that sold us their stuff over many decades of gaming history. Do you remember them, or did the rest of the game turn out to be more memorable than the item shop? Deadline is Monday the 31st of August, participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/ Here is the quiz, have fun! Direct link: https://i.imgur.com/xhKYiKA.png |
