How many Aminet CD Sets were released?

I mean the 4 CDROM sets, not the individual CDs. I only have Sets 1 and 2, but IIRC there were at least 6.

Since Aminet still receives uploads, are they still releasing CDs even?

There were 12 Aminet Sets released. The last individual Aminet CD released was #52 in Dec 2002. Urban Müller announced early last year that he wasn't releasing any further CDs simply because people could download the software for themselves and hence there was little demand for them. There's probably nothing stopping people from leeching all of Aminet and burning it to DVD nowadays. Only thing is that over the years some files have been withdrawn or lost in server meltdowns, so the Aminet CDs are the only way of getting close to a complete snapshot of what's been on Aminet from the start up to the end of 2002.

I started collecting the single CDs from issue 14 till the end (Issue 52).
In the first years it was always a pleasure for me to browse the latest CDs. But in the last years it really pist me off very often. Because of the lack of new and top stuff. There was always the same crap on em for the last CDs.
Another + was the full versions of older commercial stuff includet as bonus on the CDs. But the quality was also getting poor in the last issues.

But the first years were pure fun. never forget the day were i bought me my firs AMIGA CD rom drive. Nearly everything was bootale from cd rom. Tons of software. WICKED!

Remember also that the device was plugged into the PCMCIA port of my a600.
