Question How to contribute to TOSEC

1 - When the corrections of the "TOSEC Amiga Correction Thread " will be APPLIED and thread closed ?

2 - About the new images, which are the members of EAB that hold them ?

3 - When the new images will be ADDED to the TOSEC archive ?

4 - Where TOSEC archive is hosted, or it is only a DAT file ?

5 - Who will be the patient EAB member that will answer this thread ?

2. The recent new disks found by maimai can be found on Magix FTP along with the Flashtro cracks and trainers that are not in TOSEC yet. For the older ones you have to ask and I'm sure someone will upload them to the Zone again

3. Here is a post about when there will be a new TOSEC dat : http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=132 (well kind of when )

5. Two by me for now

Thanks TCD, but it's a site to view cracktros, not a site of a cracker group ?

Or it's both the things ?

Both of them The people that make to site also make the cracks and trainers (at least some of them do both). I haven't seen a site where you can download their releases (well now we have Magix FTP ). Maybe one of the other members can tell us where to get the newest releases

As you can see the thread was started long ago and there are comments by [idoru] till the last page, so i think he already applied most of the corrections (probably present in the last official dat) and has done some more fixes, the ones he didn't comment yet will be made when he gets back, unfortunately he has been very busy lately but thankfully there are people here that keeps working and pointing new bugs .
I also think that the thread will no be closed soon since new bugs will be found in the future

No idea here but TheCyberDruid gave you the answer, it seems there are some ftps where you can find them, there are also other places where you can find stuff not yet on TOSEC and there is even a DAT (Garbage - Commodore) that should have stuff not yet renamed by nobody and some people collect.

There is no official TOSEC archive, the TOSEC collection is really huge (i guess +1TB now) plus its not very legal to have all the collection if you don't have the original media, it would be very dificult to have that kind of 'archive'. That said, i'm sure there are people that have a (almost) complete TOSEC collection but we only give the datfiles.
The images information (file names / hashes / etc.) will be added when people that maintains those dats have the free time to do so )
TheCyberDruid had already answered this one too

TOSEC is a preservation project that works by cataloging the history of all systems we can, its not a collection of files or so but its not a single DAT too.
It is a collection of datfiles for numerous systems, having the information of all possible dumps that people could find and rename out there, there are lots of files missing i guess but we are doing our best to improve it even if it seems dead by now :P
We only catalog / identify sets and provide a way of people doing it to know / organize their files (the dats), even if there are lots of people that want to collect them, if you intend to play them etc i suppose you don't need to have a ton of bad dumps and hacks or alternates :P

Thanks for patience

NO unique BIG archive, only DATs to order personal collections of ADFs

But ..... there's hope for a unique BIG archive?

A place with information, possibly but we don't even have access to tosec.org for some months now , dats can be found there and in toseciso.org

A BIG archive is impossible, you have to note that it would be really HUGE to host and get lots of troubles and costs for the ones doing it, TOSEC is a legal preservation and cataloging project with years now
Its not only about ADF sets, the size of ISO sets is simply huge with some dats surpassing the 100GB each...

That said i'm not telling you that there aren't places where you can find them, everything is out there but will probably be via p2p and not a single uber extreme archive

You can get all the latest public sets from torrents, might take a while though

Surely, i understand TOSEC is for ALL

I was not referring to ALL, only to Amiga Games (like PlanetEmu)

Since here in EAB there are a lot of people talking about rare games,
ADF naming, HOL fixes, game music, etc. etc.
the idea that there was a place where collect carefully all of them,
come naturally in my mind

Bye

The Amiga "disk based" TOSEC sets come to about 32GB in size

Of course the AmigaCD / CD32 / CDTV TOSEC set are over 200GB...

If you 7zip compress the uncompressed images they can be compressed to around 5-6gb

I have shitloads of non-tosec stuff ready for renaming

Well I have about 7 or 8 DVD's of ISO's to sort thru, I also have more en-route

There is little point renaming until [idoru] gets back!
