Do you like Dragon's Lair?
Jaw-dropping, that's what I thought of Dragon's Lair when the huge disk-set was released for the Amiga, requiring the sought-after 1MB expansion. And I wet my pants out of excitement when I first played the original laserdisc game at home with the help of my trusty A500 and 1081 monitor. Yes, I had orderer that not-so-beautiful cable from the German Software Corner (anyone knows what happened to those guys?) allowing the Amy to interact with the laserdisc player! So I fired up the original Dragon's Lair laserdisc and there you go, brilliant! Space Ace was great too, but I prefer the dragon-castle-medieval setting.
So, I'm interested to know, do you like laserdisc games or hate their 'lack of playability' and prefer 'real games' ? I for one know it 'll always make it on my top 10 list. *Don't vote for the quality of the Amiga conversion of DL*, vote for the general laserdisc concept. |

Well its nice to look at, but I wouldn't call it "it's so interactive" pushing the right buttom at the right time is not my way of interactive entertainment
![]() But watching it as a cartoon is nice. Guess your poll is to narrow for my vote. I dont LOVE it, I dont HATE it and I know what a laserdisc is.. I would vote "Look nice but play awfull" ![]() |

I agree with Dizzy. Played it once. Than never again. Really nice graphics but that's it.

It didn't take more than an hour's play to ditch this game.
![]() It's just not a game. It's a big list of scripted joystick moves with some graphics. ![]() |

as a lot of things retro, it may not be technically brilliant, but I love it... wouldn't change a thing.

The GB version was great. Mainly because it was just a port of Rollercoaster for the Speccy with a fantastic soundtrack. Great game, but bloody difficult.

I was not much more than 11years old when it came out on the arcades and it was an unprecedented 20p per go!!!!!!
it looked sooo good.... as the real voice would anounce "Dragons lair.....Battle you way through...." and on it would go... i can even smell the ice-cream from the stand next to it..... mesmorized i would look in wonder at this new LASER disk technology and wonder upon the smoothness and slick animations of the game... after bugging my parents relentlessly for an hour for 20p to play.... i would walk upto the machine... slowly releasing the recently new funny shaped 20p into the slot hearing a light chink as it hits a very full reserve.... There i am for the firs moment as the game begins,..... okay doge down ... oh wait.. screen goes black... and i wait the impossible second, is the machine broken i thought.. i better get my 20p back... oh wait... there ...hang on ... i see my character die.... i'm dead.... insert coins.... WTF!!?!?!??!?!?!? Feking crap inpossible game that was designed to RIP me off!!!!!! /GRRRRRrrrr and space ace..... SUCKED as much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bring back ghost and goblings!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was a 10p game worthy of 20pence!!!!! and insofar there were plenty of more better games, G&G, Spy Hunter, Super Galaxians, Wonderboy, Shinobie, Double Dragon, Ikari Warriors, Starwars to name but a few... Wow, could there ever be any question about it? I simply love Dragon's Lair. The Commodore 64 version isn't to bad either.

I watched a friend complete the game at the arcade once.
The video display broke and there was no picture. He had played it so much, he knew which joystick / fire button combination to use just by the sound alone. On the Amiga, I still have not managed to get past the first screen yet! |

Hmm. Gameplay doesnt exists. That's true.
But i'm trying to install in on a hard drive. I successfully install Escape from singe's castle so i can try to install DL 1 to make a unique game. But i not find the original disks near where i live! Does someone have the original DL 1 disk one in DMS or ADF format so i can try? |
