Picasso2 > Cybervision64 ?

I just got myself a nice cybervision64 off ebay. I was also watching other auctions of the same seller since he was auctioning lots of gfx boards, and among them were two picassoIIs. I'm planning to replace a PicassoII+ in my A3000 with this cybervision so I was watching those auctions too. to get idea what the picasso II is worth.

strangely, picasso's ended higher than my cybervision ! ( see links here and here) I was like WTF ? Surely cybervision64 is the better card right ? Or am I missing something ?

Yeh, CV64 is definitely better. It's probably only 2nd to the PIV for 2D stuff if you consider Amiga-specific gfx cards. Maybe the bidders involved only had A2000s or A1200s with Z2 busboards- either that or they were on some funky drugs!

Does PicassoII have a scandoubler like PicassoIV? That might also explain the higher prices. I for myself would not by a CV64(/3D) anymore due to the missing scandoubler. You can buy these for the CV64 but they are pretty expensive (and back in '97 I couldn't get any scandoubler at all, ordered it at P5, got a nice letter back teling me they won't sell these anymore). Bad luck. And friend of mine doesn't want to exchange his P-IV with my CV64/3D, guess why.

Nopes, of course Picasso2 doesn't have a scandoubler. One of the boards (130$ one) had a pablo (Composite out). That could explain something. Also I'll use this in an A3000 so I don't need a scandoubler.

No one in their right mind would swap a P-IV for Cv64.

I know but I still don't like that. I of course wouldn't do it either.
