Kid Chaos and loading problem

Hello guys
A strange thing happened to me.

A500 fails to load Kid Chaos game. The floppy starts, but after the crack screen you can hear the heads repeating the same loading over and over again, while the screen remains black.
I waited five minutes but the loading didn't proceed.
I've tried writing several floppies, but the same problem always occurs.

What could be the cause?
Has anyone tried loading Kid Chaos via floppy with real A500?

Yes, Kid Chaos works on A500, kick 1.3, 0.5MB slow.

Maybe try a different cracked version? Cracks were often fixed for NTSC, Kickstart 2.0+, etc. and in the process, they may have broken compatibility with the system the game was meant for. Or maybe the crack you try is just bad from the outset.

No protection on Kid Chaos so a bad crack won't be the issue

The floppy drive is not original Amiga, but this floppy drive loaded hundreds of games well.

I have changed many kid chaos adf files, they all have the same problem.

Could you kindly try loading kid chaos onto floppy disks on your Amiga?

Seems like your physical disc may be damaged, or you disk drive may be on its way out.... do all other games work o that drive?

What's your setup? Iirc KC has a HD install.

You can also test it under WinUae
Give the CoverDisk a whirl
https://amr.abime.net/amr_search.php...=0&action=Find

Also try skipping the Cractro and try another Crack or download the original.

From my memory, You have A500 with RED LED. This is main problem for me. Only A500 with GREEN LED are OK for me for some trackloading demos and games.

This game require a drive with a working READY signal.

You mentioned that you don't have an original drive, the problem could be that...

Don Adan,
I have A500 green led, with 512kb slow ram and floppy drive. without hdd.

Ross,
But the drive has a working ready signal, in fact it loads hundreds of games well.
However I also tried changing the drive, same problem.

Maybe it depends on the fact that I write the ADF with Greaseweazle
Probably Greaseweazle, despite having written many adf correctly, has a problem writing the kid chaos adf correctly?

Do any of you use Greaseweazle?

Do you also have an external drive or just the internal one?
If you also have an external, have you tried disconnecting it? (the loader isn't exactly the best at managing drives..)

Not so strange , the file system is standard but the loader is custom and does not use any of the system functions when loading from floppy (as is the case with many other games).

But I'm not convinced that the floppy drive's Ready signal is the cause.

How do you explain the fact that it loads well over a hundred games, and fails with only one game.........

I write adf on floppy with Greaseweazle. Could it be that I am unable to write the data to the adf file in question correctly?

maybe some rare case, like those few games that refuse to boot on Gotek?

i have tried around one month ago the non original disks on my old A500 ks1.2 and it loaded ok as it did back in the day; it was the test when we discovered the OCS ingame gfx glitch

Well, this can be tested.
Into the Zone an ADF, with READY signal check removed.

I didn't check if the various timings in this situation are correct (I did everything very quickly ), so it might not work for other reasons (but in WinUAE at least it works).
I also removed external drives management to simplify the patch.
Also had to remove the Copylock (I used SPS1140) to make it a standard ADF (removing Copylock is very trivial, so I didn't waste time on it).

Ross,
I got your adf from the zone. Same problem.
I did a test. At Winuae I inserted the Floppy Bridge plugin, so I can read Amiga floppies via Greaseweazle.

Now when I insert the floppy kid chaos it starts, but the heads go up to track 40 and return to track 0, always repeating the same thing. They go in loops.
The same thing happens on the Amiga too.

I'm running out of ideas.
If it's something related to Greaseweazle I don't know how to help.
