Could this have anything to do with the sync itself? In the example Chips mentions the following for Prince of Persia:

"Finally write the remaining tracks with the non standard 4891 sync (standard
one is 4489)."

Is there anything similar that is needed so in essence the disk is written in parts with relevant tweaks along the way?

Also, how did you create the IPF for this file? I wonder if it is similar to the issue I had when it skipped write of some tracks (did the first 10 or so then skipped to 40 but still loaded the boot screen requesting key code!) unless I wrote in SCP format.

UPDATE: Seems like you have done some wizardry! Your file writes completely whereas mine did around 10 tracks then skipped to track 40 then ended! Only the .SCP version I made via Disk-Analyze went to 79 tracks.

How did you make this one?
Simple : Disk analyse needs the AmigaDOS format, the IBM/ST track format and the megaprot 91 longtrack to be given to correctly encode.

the 10 first tracks are amiga dos, track 40 is Amigados (amiga files), then the remaining of the tracks are IBM/ST 10x512bytes sectors, and track 79.1 is megaprot 91.

I can make an extended ADF of both Blues Brothers versions if you want.

Or do you mean a deprotected ADF ?

We just want to see if the mfm format can be duplicated for play on a real Amiga.

I have removed the track read protection, all that remains is the disk format, but for a reason I can't explain, MFMWarp is stalling over writing out track 24.

The reason for this is to save actually cracking it, because other than a slightly different format in places, I'm convinced there is no difference between this version and original retail version.

The MFM tracks are not protected.

Could it be how the tracks are interpreted that is causing the failure? I presume creating an image in WinUAE is the same as Amiga hardware or not? I've got access to Greaseweazle so could write the disk and then read back on my A600 using a disk approach if it would help? In SCP as opposed to IPF I got disk to write my original image perfectly without skipping tracks.

As explained, the IPF you made with disk analyse lacked the ST/IBM tracks, and the protected track.

This is why you only got 10 first track + track 40 written and nothing else.

We know the MFM tracks are pretty standard, we just want to create a warp image of the disk that can be written back on a real Amiga and keep the ADOS / MFM layout.

Anyway, I used PowerCopy to save to DEV and wrote the DEV back to an extended ADF and it loaded fine. Took the ADF and created a new IPF in Disk-Utilities and all tracks resolved from the ADF to the correct format of ADOS / 10 sector IBM!

Uploaded an LZX archive (I used LZX v1.21 by rASCAL/ShOOT'95) of the files from my PowerCopy DeviceDrawer to the Zone: BluesBrothersPowerCopy.lzx

You need PowerCopy and LZX installed on your real Amiga, then extract the LZX files to the DeviceDrawer folder (defaults to SYS:DeviceDrawer) or set that path/folder in PowerCopy, then just use Source Drive DEV and Target Drive 0, put a blank disk in DF0: then hit START!

Best suited to systems with Hard Drives / CF Cards as the extracted PowerCopy files are 1.76mb!

LZX from aminet: https://aminet.net/util/arc/lzx121r1.lha
The version of PowerCopy I used can be found in this folder on the EAB FTP: TheZone/files/_2014/PowerCopy_v3.07a_Cracked_StingRay [version by StingRay].zip

Any chance of a format that I can simply write to disk using GW eg IPF, SCP? Unless I can use Disk Analyze on your image to do this myself?

The IPF I made is in the ZONE, just write it back to disk with GW!

I don't have permission to access the zone. I've been a member of this forum for years.

I'm sure you've asked this question previously and I provide the solution: How do I get access to The Zone?

Yeah, long ago... back when I was a GMod, I didn't have the heart to edit Paul's post though.

Rest in peace our friend

Well, you could just add a note that's it's left there in respect of Paul but is no longer applicable.

Thank you! It works! Seems like the game is otherwise identical to the original lol. Ah what an age we live in where we have the games cracked and released with their protection lol.
