Loading Amiga 500

I’m having great trouble in loading anything - I have tried with alternative (tested) floppy drive which makes the right noises.
It boots up workbench but fails to load anything else. Any ideas please.

If you know the drives are ok and floppy is, i would try swaping over the CIA chips.

If you trying to load a commercal game and that fails but it loads up a workbench disk, then maybe the CIA chip.

Thanks!

Give us some examples of what exactly fails to load (and how - error message..?). Does the A500 have a memory expansion in the trapdoor?
