Amiga 3000 battery removal

Could anyone tell me whether I can simply detach the battery in my A3000 and that's the end of any potential leakage troubles? Or does it need to be removed in a particular way? Or does it even have to replaced for the machine to continue working (I realise obviously that the clock will no longer work)?

Ta

only tod and scsi prefs are stored by battery. you can run without it if you want with no major issues. the only way to 'unplug' is to desolder it.

since you would already be inside with an iron, might as well install a coin cell holder (with diode) and battery.

Remove it with a cutter-nose plier, or whatever that's called in English.

If you are sure it has not leaked. If it has leaked, the board must be neutralized and cleaned.

It probably should be neutralized and cleaned even if it hasn't appeared to leak- it may be you just can easily see it.
