Super Agnus - 2MB Chip Ram
I am after the PAL version of this chip for my Amiga 1500/2000.
I know that i am looking for a chip that says 8375 on it and the part number has to end in 10 or 1 for PAL I have the NTSC version which came with DKB Megachip board,i bought from the USA......which i assume is no good for a PAL system ! I have seen a chip on Ebay, but the guy says this will only work in a 500+ or 600 ? Is this correct ? |

I think he's saying that it's from an A500+ / A600 which is correct. Those were the only machines with it in. But it is what you are after.
I think that they may have come in two or more packages... make sure you get the right one for your DKB board (if you need PLCC then get that one, if you need PDIP then that one... etc.) |

The Agnus itself can work in both modes.. It's just the matter of tying a certain leg high or low.
Only the pre-ECS Agnuses (only 512kB CHIP RAM) are built to a certain video standard. (here PAL/NTSC means refresh rate and screen res, not colour encoding) Last edited by Jope; 21 June 2005 at 20:23. |

It's not true, at least not for the 8735 Agnus. They are hard-wired to either NTSC or PAL.
Look at the Agnus in your MegAChip and report the part number back and I'll tell you what the PAL equivalent is if you want to get one and swap. |

I would recommend getting an 8375 318069-10
Although I have no evidence, I think that the 390544-01 could have a different pinout and not be compatible in your MegAchip |

Alex is right
Unlike the 8372 which could be switched between PAL / NTSC The 8375 came in PAL or NTSC versions and as we have seen from Zetro's similar thread, Pinout compatibility is not assured. TC |
