Found FroggerNG 2.08 WOS version
While I was updating stuff in my Amiga hdd for the preperation of my Amiga being fixed, I found a version of FroggerNG Warpos version that Sebastian sent me from my beta testing days.
I don't think it's available elsewhere it's: 16.Work:Multimedia/FroggerNG> version FroggerNGBETA.WOS full FroggerNG 2.08 (24/09/03) PPC (WarpOS) Is there a newer version available? I'd like to have the 2.08 68k version as well if available. Last edited by ancalimon; 28 November 2011 at 13:41. |

In The Zone!
Here's the changelog: 2.08 - Fixed a bug in subtitle loaders (one char at end of line was always truncated). - Workarounded P96 bugs, so the subtitles should work on P96 as well. - Fixed bug in CROP option, wasnt working correctly with VLAYER display. - Fixed another bug in WAV demuxer, this time access to address 0x0. - Optimized planar vlayer + grey display mode. Around 30% faster. - Fixed deadlock after seek/pause/screen switching that occured if audio was decoded via #?mpeg.device - Added initial support for SVCD subtitles. - Fixed bug in display code; bitmap of resolution 0x0 could not be allocated. - Added audio channels swapping (binded to F9, also available as tooltype/cli arg). - Added OSD display. Not every action is now displayed on OSD, will be changed in future. OSD display includes: subtitles, svcd subtitles, brightness, saturation, contrast, postprocessing, volume, info about snapshots, and more... - Added key shortcut for disabling OSD (F6). It disables both OSD messages, as well as subtitles. - Fixed slider positioning when playing truncated asf files. - Added audio delay adjusting during playback, binded to F8 (increase) and F7 (decrease). - Fixed bug in prefs saving routine, was accessing address 0x0 - Added support for Nullsoft NSV format. - Added support for uncompressed RGB3 video (some NSV videos uses that). - Added KEY_CYCLE_SUBTITLE (F4), used for cycling thru SVCD subtitles (if there is more than one language). - Added support for new features of cgxvideo.lib v43 - Fixed few problems with vorbis decoder, should be stable now. - Fixed another problem with ACC decoder. Now Animatirx works (really . - Added MELODY1200 decoder, it uses the mel1200mpeg.device. - Added ASUS Video 2 decoder. - Fixed bug in prefs saving routine. - Added Apple Video (RPZA) video codec. - Optimized msrle, msvc and smc video decoders. up to 15%. - Added display=IFF, saves frames as iff images, see docs for more info. @ancalimon
Hey. I was never a beta tester and i only have the last official version, obviously. Sorry. The list of changes is quite impressive and i think that some of these 0x0 bugs were responsible for most of the crashes i've had with this. I missed the first upload. Can you reupload it in the zone or anywhere, please? |

Still looking for the 68k version. It's a shame that the sources to this program got lost. |

I can't make this version work. Strange because I remember using it 10 years ago and it was great even with hires divx videos when used with adecoder=delfina option to make delfina decode the audio. (I no longer have the Delfina though)
I get WarpOS crash window with log when try running it (tried with 1000000 stack) Did anyone try this version? |

I had FroggerNG working with my BlizzardPPC+Mediator. Time to check warpos-settings perhaps?

Does it crash or an wos exception is shown ?
The last one is configured by env vars, or by using an older lib that has this protection missing. (the docs say, only for developers) took me a few years to find this out. |

It's a wos exception; The console windows that opens.
Should I use an different powerpc.library? I'm using the latest one (16.1beta) that works properly with ppc.library emulation as advised by warp datatypes. http://sun.hasenbraten.de/~frank/projects/ ppc memory protection is set to off anyway. Maybe it's happening because my CStormPPC is now overclocked? (66mhz, 400mhz, ram settings at 70ns) |

Using the later release version 16.1 here, no problems WOS 2.08 works great!
And I am registered ;-) Do you have the PUP and 68K updates? |

I can seek inside the video when using window mode. But as soon as I click play or press space, I get wos exception. What command line do you use (or what tooltypes) for the 2.08 beta? Can you put your powerpc drawer inside ENVARC: here? Also powerpc.library and ppc.library Last edited by ancalimon; 06 December 2014 at 07:16. |

I think I may have found a way to not make it crash.
The following command makes it not crash. Still not sure what is causing the crash. FroggerNGBETA.WOS filename ad=sw ao=ahi autostart It might be crashing if autostart switch is not used. EDIT: Found the reason. You have to start it from shell. If you don't specify a file name and choose the file after frogger gui is started, it crashes. Also pausing or seeking causes wos exception with the 2.08. (Although wos exception after pausing does not cause the movie to stop playing) Not very useful. Tried this and it works: stack 2000000 FroggerNG.WOS filename display=vlayer colorkey ad=sw ao=ahi fullscreen autostart Using ahi, it's not playing high resolution divx files properly. Using audiodecoder=delfina was much better. Maybe I shouldn't have swapped my Delfina Lite for a Toccata. I wish there was another videoplayer like Frogger for Warpos. SoftCinema is another one, and I can't remember which one is supposed to be all in one solution now ;-) SC can use plugins for exotic formats from linux ppc directly.
As for FroggerNG I tested it from icon with audio to paula and no vlayer, just direct to cgx. MPEG1 320x240x16bit manages to play 100% without drop-outs on the weak 603 here. |

Are we really talking about the version I uploaded here? the 2.08beta version that can not be downloaded from Frogger homepage. I also have some old codecs from a previous version of Frogger. They were removed after a legal complaint as far as I remember. |

Compared PowerUp 2.07 v 2.08 WOS, with my test MPGE1 video 352x288 (Full PAL VideoCD 4 minutes)
The speed difference is minimal, 2.07 dropped 10 frames, 2.08 dropped 15. And yes, 2.08 has a cosmetic bug on startup (corrupt window display until you resize it) Would have been interesting to recompile it with newer vbcc, could give a noticeable speedup 10+%!. |

sorry for resurrecting this old thread but since the website frogger.rules.pl doesn't exist anymore, could someone upload the warpOS codecs in the zone?
I only have the folder codecs_68k on my installation and I was trying to run version 2.08 WOS but it complaints of not finding some codecs. Thanks in advance. |
